  • Phoebe’s Reality TV Club: Love Island ft. Emma Garland
This week, as part of her continuing revenge on Hussein for making her watch, in her words, "a cartoon", Phoebe has forced him at gunpoint to watch a few episodes of this year's Love Island. But, we can't do it alone, so joining us this week is culture writer Emma Garland! You can find Emma on twitter at https://twitter.com/emmaggarland and find her writing for Vice and The Guardian here https://www.vice.com/en/contributor/emma-garland  and here https://www.theguardian.com/profile/emma-garland, respectively.Ten Thousand Posts is a show about how everything is posting. It's hosted by Hussein (@HKesvani), Phoebe (@PRHRoy) and produced by the very handsome Devon (@Devon_OnEarth).

  • [PREVIEW] It’s Morbin Time ft. Liv Agar
This is a preview of a bonus episode. Listen to the entire episode at: www.patreon.com/10kpostspodcast.
    --------
On this week's bonus episode, we've heard your demands and finally- JUST THIS ONCE- acquiesced. Morbius is a fascinating example of a movie so awful and uninteresting that it became an object of ironic enjoyment. Posters managed to convince Disney to reopen the movie in cinemas, only for it to pull in about 80 dollars per cinema on average on it's reopening weekend.
Joining us to talk about this is Twitch Streamer and QANON Anonymous contributor Liv Agar, who penned the tweet that brought this back to our attention. https://twitter.com/Liv_Agar/status/1532643775553712130?s=20&t=hlAxrWGE_Ui5c2s1twW3ywDevon joined for this one too, making this our first ever four-mic episode. And truly, what better a topic to break records for.

  • Daddy’s Home ft. Andrew Law
This week, we're rejoined by Andrew Law (@IllyBocean) from Boontavista to discuss the recent 'Am I The Asshole' post about the couple cancelling the catering at their wedding to afford a visit from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and to go into depth about the phenomenon of 'posting about your kids'Tune in for Phoebe's opinion on Disney Adults, Hussein somehow keeping the promise 'I'm only going to mention Morbius once this episode', and Andrew being such a good friend that, when asked to bring in good dadposts, brings not one but TWO posts by his friend Theo.

  • [PREVIEW] A Beginners Guide To Posting As Praxis ft. Asia Arts Tours
This is a preview of a bonus episode. Listen to the entire episode at: www.patreon.com/10kpostspodcast.
--------On this week's bonus, Hussein talks to Matt Dagher-Margosian, founder of Asia Arts Tours and the host of Arts of Travel Podcast, to talk about how activist groups and workers have used digital tools to advance material causes in Thailand, China, and India. Matt talks about how these movements - many of which were relatively unheard of in Western media - used digital tools not as a centre of their activism, but to enhance and complement their material demands, all while retaining physical territory and displaying their physical presence in public space. We talk about what activists, scholars and civil action groups could learn from these movements, and why it's essential to understand the internet through materialist lenses to challenge its neoliberal entrenchments.

  • Ladposting On Tour ft. Clive Martin
We're joined again by writer and podcast host Clive Martin (@thugclive) to talk about a recent article he wrote for The Face, on digital homogeneity and the expansion of influencer aesthetics into everyones day to day lives. We talk about how influencer aesthetics that are present in almost every social experience also serves as a form of financial insurance and is often considered a safety precaution - but where the knock on effect is replicating and regenerating highly curated experiences designed to be recirculated as content. We also talk about a kind of British Guy who, while recognising the greasy pole he needs to climb to be on TV a lot, finds himself at a point of needing to decide if he should give up his entire life in order to post full time. --------

  • [PREVIEW] It Was...10k Posts’ Account ft. Jim Waterson
This is a preview of a bonus episode. Listen to the whole episode at www.patreon.com/10kpostspodcast.----more----
The Guardian's media editor Jim Waterson (@jimwaterson) joins us this week to talk about covering the "Wagatha Christie" trial, and what happens when Barristers working in the highest court of the land, don't understand what posts are, or how to decipher the meaning of a cry-laugh emoji. While the trial was fairly low stakes, Jim talks about how digital media is becoming central to understanding communications and correspondence in courts, and how understanding posts will be fundamental in the access to justice needed for any healthy democracy.--------

  • Poster’s Potluck 3 ft. Alex Ptak
Friend of all the shows Alex Ptak (PtakTestKitchen) joins us on the pod, with some treats and delights to explain to us. On this episode, we talk about what it means to be a "wiseposter", Alex talks us through a weird tiktok channel making extremely low quality horror content that gives you the ick, and we round up by discussing one Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and his unique social media strategy of getting mad about things people enjoy about science. Also included: A long-ish discussion on how to get your own Wikifeet page.--------Listen to Alex's other shows!Pod Damn AmericaBallin' Out Super

  • [PREVIEW] What If Your Phone Could Hear You? (It Can) ft. Shoshana Wodinsky
This is a preview of a bonus episode. You can listen to the full episode at : www.patreon.com/10kpostspodcast.
--------We're joined by Gizmodo's Shoshana Wodinsky to talk about how tech companies are using the impending repeal of Roe v Wade as an opportunity to expand their surveillance apparatus and abilities, and how basically every smart phone is going to be used as a hyper-personalised surveillance device that will employ the combination of ad-tech, tracking and state surveillance to build a system that constantly monitors you, tries to sell stuff to you and, also, arrest you. Shoshana tells us some ways to work around this that are essential to do any form of activism. Also, we check in on Jordan Peterson, who has seemingly pissed off some of his fanbase who are dating women who aren't instagram models.

  • True Crime Is Rotting Your Brain ft. Emma Berquist
We're joined by the writer Emma Berquist (@eeberquist) to talk about a recent piece she wrote on the pitfalls of the True Crime boom, and how the explosion of true crime content, in the form of podcasts, youtube channels and Tiktoks, might be contributing to a culture of intense, and often racialised, paranoia. Emma talks to us about how True Crime shows often borrow from the fear-inducing features of tabloid papers and magazines, while using their proximity to listeners/viewers, to project ideas of a world that is more dangerous than it actually is, and why this might not be a good thing at a time when so many people feel atomised and isolated. Oh, also we try to explain "Britain" to Emma and it goes as well as you might imagine it does.--------Read Emma's Gawker article here: https://www.gawker.com/culture/true-crime-is-rotting-our-brains--------Purchase Emma's books here: https://www.emmaberquist.com/devils-unto-dust/

Phoebe’s Reality Tv Club: Love in the Flesh (Episode 1)
    10k_fleshlove_V01.mp3
Since Hussein promised Phoebe she didn't have to watch cartoons anymore, and he is an honourable man who sticks to his promises,  we're instead watching Reality TV. We watch the first episode of Love In The Flesh, a show in which photogenic but extremely online young people who have, supposedly, only dated on the internet, meet each other in real life on a tropical Island. The show marries the aesthetics of Love Island with the slight unhinged-ness of Catfish, to convey what happens when you're extremely online, but in a specific, commercialised way, and also how one might navigate being online differently if they're also extremely attractive.--------You can watch Love In The Flesh on BBC Iplayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m0015pzv/love-in-the-flesh
