Episode 25 of Tendy Talk I chat with fellow podcaster Keits Zanders of the Between The Pipes podcast. Keits has an interesting background having been born in Latvia, and immigrating to the US at the age of 13. After coming to America Keirts continued playing hockey, but eventually took a break from the game. Listen to what brought him back to the game, and how he ended up becoming a firefighter. This was a long episode so it is broken up into two parts.

Episode 24 of Tendy Talk was a special one for me. When I started the podcast I told my wife that maybe I'd be lucky enough to have my childhood idol Ed Belfour on as a guest. Well, not only was I able to have Ed on Tendy Talk as a guest, but his son Dayn who is also a goalie joined us as we talked about how they wound up between the pipes, tinkering with equipment and their whisky business Belfour Spirits. If they sell Belfour Spirits whisky in your neck of the woods, pour yourself a glass, and enjoy the episode.

Special thanks to Belfour Spirits Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Cornelius for helping coordinate schedules.

For episode 23 of Tendy Talk I connect with Cas Semlak of the 4 The Love of Puck Project. I first started skating with Cas a little over a year ago when I played in his Playground Puck Tournament at the Groveland Park Ice Rinks. Since then I've learned about the documentary they're making, participated in some of their pick-up skates, and even appeared in one of their commercial shoots for Kav Sports. Have a listen, and learn how Cas got into hockey, and why the game means so much to him.

For episode 21 of Tendy Talk I connect with Brother Rice High School of Chicago senior goaltender Ed Vogrich. I reached out to Ed as I am a Brother Rice alum who spent 4 years tending the net for the Crusader hockey team at both the JV and varsity levels. Ed and I talk about how we both got our start playing youth hockey for St. Jude, his decision to attend Brother Rice, and how COVID has impacted his senior season. #RicePride

For episode 20 of Tendy Talk, I had the pleasure of talking to mask creator and mask painter Don Straus. Unlike previous guests, Don doesn't play hockey yet alone ever played goalie. His background is in motorsports, which freed him of any preconceived notions as to how a goalie mask should look when he came up with his now-iconic Armadilla goalie mask. Not only was the mask a work of art, but some of the masks he painted are icons of 90's NHL hockey from Brian Haywards San Jose Sharks mask where it looks like a shark with his mouth open around the cage, to previous Tendy Talk guest Kelly Hrudy's Hollywood mask, and most notably John Vanbiesbrouck's Florida Panthers panther mask. As we discuss on the episode, what we all remember as Vanbiesbrouck's panther mask wasn't the original design, the one to the right was. Have a listen to the episode to hear more great stories.

In keeping with my mission to talk to goaltenders of all ages and skill levels, I reached out to the University of North Carolina - Wilmington senior goaltender Ryan Besemer. Ryan is a marine biology major from upstate New York with an interesting background. We talk about what brought him to UNCW, the difference between ACHA hockey and NCAA hockey, and how COVID has impacted his collegiate career.
