Fight analysis is pretty damn hard, and conveying analytical concepts in a clear and concise manner is even harder. The Fight Site and plenty of other fight analysts have been misunderstood or had their analysis misconstrued on many different occasions, and the MMA discourse frequently devolves into an absurd game of broken telephone where each subsequent iteration of the original evaluation becomes muddled and misrepresented.
To alleviate this issue, one should probably turn to science and education to look for solutions and understand how those fields deal with communicating expertise.
For this reason, Tumen is joined by Haxx, Operator and Dan Albert, each of whom have experience and expertise in the fields of education and science that could go a long way in helping The Fight Site and the analyst community to find ways to improve.
In this episode our host and his guests establish the core issues analysts have to deal with when communicating analysis, describe the primary dynamics driving those issues, and outline the possible solutions which the MMA analyst community may begin working towards to make the MMA discourse clearer, less prone to misunderstanding, and perhaps make their analysis more accurate in general.
