Regardless of your politics, today is a special day for Tennessee and American agriculture as President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak with farmers at the American Farm Bureau convention at Opryland and one of his topics should be about ag trade.

Over 6000 farmers and ranchers from across the country are heading to Opryland this weekend for the American Farm Bureau’s 99th annual convention, and of course, a highlight is expected on Monday as President Trump is scheduled to address the group.

This next week, thousands of the nation’s farmers will be coming to Tennessee for the American Farm Bureau’s 99th Annual meeting and many row crop producers will be listening and learning about 2018 planting intentions.

The arctic blast that’s gripped most of the country continues and livestock owners are encouraged to continue taking measures to ensure their animals are cared for during the cold weather.

As we get right into a new year, perhaps more so than any other group, our farmers are looking forward to a better year in 2018.

As the New  Year kicks off, it always seems appropriate to look forward and not only set goals for the upcoming year, but see what it has in store.

With the New Year coming up fast, it seems like a great time to see what happens on the farm during this holiday.

Robert and Lindsay Elliott are Tennessee’s Excellence in Agriculture competitors at the American Farm Bureau Convention coming up here in a couple weeks and they say it is an honor to compete at this level.

When you look back on Tennessee agriculture in 2017, one of the top stories would have to be the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) that hit poultry farms in March.
