As we wrap up season one - we are with Chef Lisa Shaw of Lisa's Boutique Catering discussing her background as a Chef in New York City, navigating her experience balancing having a family and chasing her culinary dreams.

Now in Chicago, Lisa sheds light on mentorship and sisterhood that reminds us of why we attempt to stay committed to this work in the first damn place.

We sat down with Thomas Mooneyham of Aberfeldy who has quite the extensive journey within the hospitality industry.

From time spent at a "choose your own stir fry" adventure to being named one of the city's top bartenders - he sheds light on an uncomfortable element in the hospitality space.

Abuse.

We acknowledge that coping mechanisms are a varied topic in their own right yet we wanted to really talk about the accessibility to alcohol, the expectations of its use and how slippery a slope it can be.

This is the beginning of many more conversations to come that genuinely explore the coping mechanisms of the industry and we thank Thomas for sharing his experiences and allowing us to share ours as well.

The hospitality experience has always taken on many forms, and none are as silent - or prevalent, as sex work; specifically for black and brown people.

We are fortunate to be able to sit down with Chicago force, Lynzo THE Heartthrob to discuss the intersectionality of sex work and the parallels within the restaurant industry.

This thoughtful and educational episode is not just about the diversity of those in the industry  - but how minimization can inspire a shift to find yourself in an unlikely environment that fulfills you on your own terms.

We are here with Grocery Run Club to discuss the basis of food distribution and overall support for the culture as a whole.
