Today, we welcome the always versatile Terry Beatty to explore his diverse, four-decade career spanning comic books, newspaper strips, and cover art. Terry discusses his co-creation of the long-running female detective series Ms. Tree with writer Max Allan Collins, as well as their other collaborations including Mike Mist, Mickey Spillane's Mike Danger, and Johnny Dynamite. We explore his work as the primary inker on DC's "animated-style" Batman comics, including a four-year stint inking Chris Jones' pencils on The Batman Strikes!, as well as his transition into newspaper strips where he served as the Sunday artist for The Phantom from 2012 to 2017, before taking over both the art and writing duties on Rex Morgan, M.D. Terry also opens up about his work beyond comics, including his regular cover paintings for Scary Monsters magazine and the Monster Memories annual, as well as his accomplishments as a sculptor.
