Aliens.
For what seemed like only minutes to Ripley, turned out to be decades and luckily fans of the movie Alien did not have to wait that long to see the next chapter in her story as director James Cameron took over the helm of the second film.
In this episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing welcomes Brandon-Shea Mutala to talk about Aliens. We discuss theatrical or special edition, human folly, the characters, artificial limits, music issues and our ratings.

The Game.
Most kids can relate to having favorite video games and playing these games for hours on end. It is easy to spend days and weeks trying to beat the game and take it to its end when you are young and have few responsibilities. However in this episode of "The Game," this premise is twisted around so the adults are chronically playing the game while Wesley is left to figure out why.
In this episode of Earl Grey, hosts Richard Marquez and Amy Nelson with special guest Bruce Gibson from Literary Trek, discuss season 5 "The Game". We all agree that Robin Lefler is amazing, Troi eating her chocolate fudge sundae is a serious endeavor, and addiction comes in many different forms. As a side note, "The Game" was the first episode to air after Gene Roddenberry's death on Oct 24, 1991.

"Birthright," Parts I and II. In the sixth-season episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "Birthright," Parts I and II, there are parallels between Lieutenant Worf and the Ancient Greek philosopher Socrates. Both Worf and Socrates were accused of corrupting the minds of the youth, both were protesting the perceived injustices and irrationality of the established state, and both were sentenced to death by execution (a fate escaped by Worf more successfully than by Socrates!). In this episode of Meta Treks, hosts Zachary Fruhling and Mike Morrison discuss the similarities and dissimilarities of Worf and Socrates. Had Worf been successfully executed, would Worf have been remembered in future Klingon history as a martyr and as the founder of a new Klingon philosophical movement, Worfism (and eventually neo-Worfism), emphasizing the ideal form of the Klingon Empire? In addition, Zachary and Mike discuss ancestral and cultural identity, both in the galactic melting pot of the Star Trek universe and in our globalized society here in the real world. Finally, not forgetting the subplot of the emergence of Lt. Commander Data's newfound ability to dream, Zachary and Mike discuss the role and significance of dreams and mythology in a modern, progressive, scientific, and rationalistic society. Movie Sequels to TOS Episodes. When Harve Bennett took the reins of the Star Trek franchise after The Motion Picture, he famously watched all 79 episodes of The Original Series to both familiarize himself with the show as well as mine it for potential sequel ideas. He zeroed in on Space Seed and the rest is history, but what if he'd picked something else?
In this episode of Standard Orbit, Ken and Zach each share their top three TOS episodes they would've liked to see movie sequels to. They also shout out to Standard Orbit's ever growing ranks of associate producers and read more listener email!
