Dr. Giggles. Running Time: 35 minutes 20 seconds Before putting his stamp on Season 4 of Star Trek: Enterprise, Manny Coto was the director of a number of lower budget horror movies from the 1990s. The best known of these was Dr. Giggles. The film features Voyager guest star Larry Drake as the title character, a serial killer who murders his victims through the use of modified medical techniques. In this episode of Stage Nine, John and Mike... examine... Coto's slasher movie. We discuss its place in horror film history, the use of comedy in the horror genre, and the evolution of Coto's career. Voyager Mirror Universe, Part 5.
In the same way that little kids will repeat an action if it makes an adult laugh, Char and Tristan are here to give the listeners what they want. And what they want is more adventures aboard the ISS Intrepid, better known as the Voyager mirror universe. Char and Tristan started creating their interpretation of the mirror Voyager crew in the Delta Quadrant back in TTJ 114, and in this fifth installment written on-the-fly, the story's focus centers on Kes and Neelix. They have both been indentured servants in exchange for being rescued by the Kazon shortly after the Intrepid found itself in the Delta Quadrant. After three years of serving the crew, Neelix thinks it's time he and Kes moved on, but Janeway doesn't think they have repaid their debt in full. What now? Tune in to this fifth installment of the Voyager mirror universe and find out.
