What happens when one of history's most enduring plays looks through the lens of someone on the sidelines? Hamlet/Horatio captures the timeless tale of corruption and vengeance through the eyes of the outsider, Horatio. Glass House Distribution will release Hamlet/Horatio June 1 on a number of digital and cable platforms.

Hamlet/Horatio has been a 20-year collaboration between producer David Wenzel and writer David Vando. The film celebrates the power of love to transcend corruption and evil driven by Horatio's mission to keep Hamlet's spirit alive, even after death.

Shakespeare's magnum opus was originally about the King of Denmark's son, Hamlet. In the text, Hamlet is told by his father's ghost to avenge his death and kill the new king, Hamlet's uncle. Horatio is Hamlet's trusted and beloved friend. Instead of telling the Hamlet story through its main character's eyes, Hamlet/Horatio flips the notion on its head and tells the story through Horatio's perspective.

The release of Hamlet/Horatio is the culmination of a 20-year collaboration between producer David Wenzel and writer David Vando, directed by Paul Warner.

"David Vando and I felt it was a need to introduce Hamlet/Horatio in a new concept to make it more relatable to a newer audience that might have been standoffish with Shakespeare in the past," David Wenzel said. "We have known Paul Warner for over 20 years and was a logical choice for him to direct."

Hamlet/Horatio begins on an empty sound stage with the death of Hamlet. The action transpires in his last moment of awareness as the hero of Shakespeare's most famous play watches his life flash before him while his soul transcends all earthly conflict. Hamlet/Horatio is told from the perspective of Hamlet's closest friend and confidante, Horatio, who takes on the role of film director in order to fulfill his promise to dying Hamlet of telling the story of Hamlet's life so that the world will know of Hamlet's tragic sacrifice.

  • Riva Taylor

Rebecca Jane Grosvenor Taylor known professionally as Riva Taylor is an English singer, songwriter and performer.

Taylor was born in Hammersmith, London. She had her first experience on the stage at the age of seven in London's West End, playing Little Eponine at the Palace Theatre. Other early achievements include winning the Thorndike Talent competition for ages 8–24, and winning a British Arts Award for her dance performance of the Secret Garden, both of which she achieved at the age of 8. She also appeared on Blue Peter, performing "My Heart Will Go On" at the age of 10. She attended Danes Hill School, Surrey before studying for her GCSEs and A Levels at Tormead School, Guildford. Taylor has said that living the life of a normal school girl was important for somebody exposed to the music industry from such a young age.

At the age of 12, she landed a recording contract with EMI, making her the youngest artist to have ever been signed to the record label. Her debut album, A Dream Come True (2001) recorded at Abbey Road Studios enjoyed international success. That same year she sang at the Farm Aid benefit gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall. This was attended by Prince Charles who praised the young Taylor and stated he would watch her career with great interest. She also caught the attention of Mohammed Al Fayed who, after hearing her sing at her album launch at Harrods, invited her to open the Harrods Sale with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Salma Hayek.

Over these years, Taylor toured worldwide promoting her music. Her US tour was supported by promotional performances on Live With Regis and Kelly hosted by guest presenter Usher and the MDA Labor Day Telethon, Los Angeles. Taylor has performed at the FA Cup Final and at the Six Nations, Twickenham Stadium.

She dances to an advanced standard and has achieved her Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance diploma.

Taylor has graduated from the University of Durham after undertaking a three-year degree in History.

  • HeIsTheArtist

Heistheartist is an American Christian singer-songwriter from Central Islip, NY. Formerly a secular neo-soul singer signed to "Bentley Records" under his biological name "LeeMann Bassey," Heistheartist discovered that his true calling was with the Lord after hearing an inspiring sermon by TD Jakes online one day. That day he was inspired to teach the world about the Lord, like TD Jakes did with his Sermon, but through music.

His single, “Boom (Remastered)” hit #1 on the Christian/Gospel charts in South Africa, followed by a #1 iTunes Jazz mash-up of Britney Spears and Snoh Aalegra. The instrumental, “Snake Charmer” is HITA’s first release of 2021. It reached #8 on the UK EDM iTunes chart.

What’s the difference between a counter-feminist and an anti-feminist? An anti-feminist says “No.” A counter-feminist says, “Yes, and men and boys also have social problems based on their sex and need help too.”

With all of the scrutiny on systemic problems in police departments, we're ignoring a deeper source of social dysfunction. If Law Enforcement is too white, Social Work is too pink. Social Work is dominated by women and is rife with antimale bias. The men it mistreats become everyone's problem. It's time to talk about systemic sexism in Social Services. The men and boys Social Work ignores and mistreats are left to fend for themselves. They conclude they must survive on their own "by any means necessary."

After getting my Masters in Social Work in 2008, I did a year as a Correctional Officer (AKA Jail Guard) in the infamous Baltimore City Detention Center. Followed that with a year as a Parole & Probation Agent in central Baltimore. Then went to work for National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) as a trainer for various state corrections systems to teach prison staff how to run NFI's "InsideOut Dad" program for incarcerated fathers.

Started a social work consultancy called Working Well With Men whose mission was to provide "tools and training for the Social Work profession to help men give and get all the love they can."

Produced and hosted a radio show called “In a Man's Shoes” on a public station near Baltimore from 1983 to 1989. Was executive director of the National Congress for Men, whose motto was “preserving the promise of fatherhood.”

In 1985 and 1986 I worked with the late, former 7th District Congressman and Black Caucus Chair Elijah Cummings when he was a Maryland state delegate in the effort he sponsored to have Maryland establish a task for force on men to study the connection between male social issues and problems of crime, violence, educational underachievement, unpaid child support and others.

In 1994 St. Martin's Press published my book Good Will Toward Men: Women Talk Candidly About the Balance of Power Between the Sexes, a collection of interviews I conducted with twenty-two women, most of whom identified as feminist, all of whom were ready, willing, able and even eager to talk not just about women's disadvantages as women, but also their advantages, and not just about men's advantages as men, but also their disadvantages.

In perhaps one of the earliest examples of what has come to be known as Cancel Culture, several St. Martin’s staff members expressed displeasure with the book’s challenge of orthodox feminism and all sales and promotion efforts for the book ceased. Good Will Toward Men went nowhere, except to bookstores' remainder bins. After that disappointment, I expressed my unhappy emotions with a wry and pithy book called If Men Have All the Power How Come Women Make the Rules. I published that one myself because my agent couldn't find an established publisher to take it on. Ironically, that book has proven to be my most popular and successful.
