  • Mental Health Disparities
We’re so glad you’re here at That Foreign Feeling, joining us for our second season, Episode 7. On this episode you get to hear from all 4 hosts, Niccy, Anna, Grace, and Steph. Today’s topic is mental health in different demographics. Mental health affects all of us differently and that especially holds true depending on our age group, location, etc. We give some great insight into resources available at our local homeless shelter, chat about how rural farming communities and our older generations are affected, take a slight rabbit trail onto library lane and what they have to offer, and round out our visit with thoughts on the progression of mental health. We’d love to hear from anyone that is versed in the topic of mental health in different demographics and what your thoughts are, check out our show notes on how to contact us! Thanks for tuning in!

  • Why are mental health services not accessible?

Welcome back to That Foreign Feeling Season 2! On this episode we chat about a topic that we know will hit home with our listeners, mental health and accessibility. One of our main goals is to help provide resources that help make mental health more accessible. Join Anna, Niccy, and Steph as we talk about issues that we feel play a part in resources not being as accessible as we wish they could be. We cover topics such as insurance problems, lack of providers and wait times, lack of awareness, and our thoughts on what can be done. If you have any thoughts, knowledge, tips, or even questions on these topics, make sure to reach out to us, we’d love to hear from you! • Meet Ryan Mellick

Thanks for joining us on Episode 5 of our 2nd Season here at That Foreign Feeling! Today you’ll be hearing our interview with Ryan… a woman both Grace and Steph (your hosts for this episode) could relate to on so many levels, from grief to mothering, and more. Ryan is a child and family therapist, mom, and wife. We were connected with Ryan through instagram, intrigued by her journey that she was taking followers on as she studied to pass her licensing exam. From a young age she new she wanted to help others and was interested in both the mind and body. It was a significant loss of a parent that solidified the path of her trajectory, inspired by the professionals that held her and her families hands as they walked through their loss. With a heart of gold and admirable passion for her calling, we know you’ll love this chat as much as we did!

Check out Ryanne on Instagram @ryanne.Mellick where she focuses on parent coaching, mindful parenting, childhood mental health, and mental health education. For even more info, head to her website ryannemellick.com .
