Kelly and Zoey Allen are an LGBTQ+ family and co-founders of the Kelzo jewellery brand. Kelly is a home educator, blogger and budding author. Zoey is a musician and singer-songwriter. (we even get a sneak peek of a song!)
Zoey came out as transgender two years ago and this is the story of how their family has navigated this time of change. It's a tale of hope that not all transgender stories end in heartbreak and though sometimes it's tough, they still have their little love bubble.
We also talk dog walking, if you are a head, heart or gut person, launching a business during the pandemic and how to walk in high heels when you have size 11 feet. The consensus is: Own it!

(watch out Gwyneth!) She is an absolute Powerhouse, a bringer togetherer (is that a word?) of likeminded souls and a connector of women. Her Everyday Joy Membership group is my favourite part of the internet, space for women to be themselves, speak their truth, laugh, sing, dance and cry together. Hello and welcome back to season 2 of That One Thing! As you will see we've had a tiny name change as it seems to make us easier to find. Now without further ado, let me introduce our season opener and what an opener it is.
Donna Noble is a master yogic practitioner and founder of Curvesome Yoga, a place for people to enjoy yoga regardless of size, ability or colour.
15 years ago Donna was a very different lady, running herself ragged with a highly stressful job in the City of London that culminated with her contracting Bell's Palsy (Bell's palsy is a temporary weakness or lack of movement affecting 1 side of your face. Symptoms of Bell's palsy include weakness on 1 side of your face, a drooping eyelid or corner of your mouth. Treatment for Bell’s palsy includes a 10-day course of steroids, eye drops and eye ointment. Treatment should start as soon as possible.
Medical experts believe that stress weakens the immune system and damages the seventh cranial nerve (or the facial nerve) which causes facial paralysis.)
It was through yoga that she initially allowed herself to heal and rebuild her life, on a journey that took her to LA and back to London, where she became a pioneer of the body-positive movement.
Donna is starting a 12-week yoga and coaching course this August 2020, you can find out more here: https://thenobleartofyoga.co.uk/
