It was a dark and stormy night, and I wish I would have been killed by lightning only to be spared having to watch Frank Miller's version of the Spirit. Our tying thread of fate this week was content being created by people outside of their craft. Last time it was comic books, this time it was so much worse. At least the comics were harmless at best, I definitely wouldn't say that for this movie.

Holy Criterion! The boys actually get to watch a GOOD movie this week! Praise be to the Movie Makers! After weeks and weeks of fun but terrible movies we get to watch a bona-fide cult classic, Eating Raoul. This movie has it all; swingers, Thai sticks, debt, wine theft, point blank face shooting, mass electrocution, and Nazi throw pillows! You don't want to miss this episode, and you definitely don't want to miss checking out Eating Raoul.

A very interesting concept this week that, like everything else we do, turned out to be pretty bad. We took a look this week at creators going outside their normal comfort zone and trying to make something new. Specifically; comics. All sorts of pseduo celebrities have writing credits on comics, and this week we looked at Freshmen co-created by Seth Green and Cryptozoic Man from the crew of the cancelled AMC TV Show Comic Book Men. There's nothing wrong with admitting your mistakes guys, it's always the first step.

No, this isn't an episode about textile worshippers, it's about Satan! Well, less about Satan and more about his schlubby right hand minions and followers. Like most Up All Night movies it has an amazing title and box art with a movie that barely seems to fit along with it! Oh my god, we're back again! Brothers, sisters, everybody sing! Recording equipment was lost, and then also casual day-to-day life as we knew it ended! Like, for real. But the lost equipment was recovered (from someone's dirty car trunk) and like Darwin's turtles we have evolved to continue bringing you engaging and riveting work as always. This week we catch our listeners up with what we've been up to as well as adjusting and updating the release schedule of the next few That Podcast Productions shows!

You better not add a "the" to the title of this movie, cause there ain't one! This week Josh, Ora, and Cody follow up the seedy noir comics of That Podcast We'll Never Do with a movie that also doesn't have color. Well, I guess Criminal was in color, but Stray Bullets did not. Either way, if you're stuck inside like most of the world is now (CV-19) then enjoy this extra long but not longer than we normally go over episode! Is that man in the window a robot, or a man? He's a witness!

There's a whole lot to unpack here. Like, a ton. Surprisingly this episode isn't two hours long! This week we threw ourselves on the proverbial pike for all of you by watching a really terrible movie so you won't have to. It's Caveman starring one of the worst Beatles and a former Bond girl. If you take away anything from this episode I promise it's DO NOT WATCH CAVEMAN. NOT A JOKE.

If it feels like it's been a long time since the boys covered a subject that they all universally enjoyed, that's because it HAS been forever! This week Ora, Josh, and Cody dive into the subject of neo-noir, noir, and crime thriller and what in the hell those words even mean in reference to comics. Stray Bullets is by David Lapham and Criminal is by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, both fantastic examples of the journey that modern comics can take you on. We actually did research on this one! That's part of why it's so long! Both series have much more content than what we read/re-read for the show so we did some deep diving on the creators as well as the genre. This was a fun one, hope you enjoy too!

Make sure you have your mind-altering substance of choice to abuse if you ever plan on watching the movie we reviewed this week; it's Cemetery High! This is the original cut of the film that was SUPPOSED to be called Assault of the Killer Bimbos, but was so bad they renamed this one and created a completely different movie to not completely waste an amazing title. No cemeteries in this movie, barely a high school, and little to no care in the editing or sound department for this one. Our sketches on this podcast have more time and effort put into them than this piece of crap. Fortunately the worse the movie, the better the episode!

Cody got sick this week, Ora listened to NPR in his car instead of sharing with friends, and Josh assuredly did devious things on the internet. This week we follow up the last episode where we decided that we'd watch Ready to Rumble and the very end of the episode. Cody loves this movie! Ora and Josh point out repeatedly to Cody just how much poop and butt stuff really is in this movie, and spoilers; it's a pretty good amount.
