This week, Jesse and I are finishing our conversation about Drag Race Mexico season 1! It’s been an interesting journey in this franchise, and seeing what they did both new and familiar. 

We talked about the puppet challenges, and how the international seasons go hard for the cornerstone challenges of old Drag Race, we talked about this distinct flavor of the show that does its own thing, and started doing it very well at the midpoint forward. This week, Jesse and I were catching up on Drag Race brain rot phrases. We were having a very good time. 

We chatted about the cast of UK vs the World Season 3, and then got back into Mexico season 1. 

This week, we talked about the telenovela challenge, a fantastic denim challenge, and got deep with the looks and stories. We talked in depth about each telenovela look and their stories, Susan Album Party, so much drag race brain rot, hot glue gun construction of costumes, feeling the fantasy while in drag, and extra double saves.

Today Jesse and I discuss a timeless classic, the Rainforest Cafe, and we learn that we are Rainforest Cafe divas. 

We get into the next three episodes of Drag Race Mexico, starting with the reading challenge, a fun rusical challenge, girls bands, and the Snatch Game. We talk about odd judging, fashion critiques, light storylines happening in the background, and how certain players are navigating the game. 

We talked about the strange edit of the girl bands, and how they were constructed, beautiful multitalented pit crew boys, set dressings made to the 10’s, and the coolest wig reveal in years.

This week Jesse and I get caught up on the Dragula finale and roasted and rattled some looks and performances. We discuss queer historical films and how they have been retained through our culture via RuPaul’s references. We talk about icon Xana and how she is the iconic queen of Canada’s Drag Race.

As we get into the Joan Rusical, we discuss storylines in short and long term of the season, queens trying to walk out of the competition, we talk about the eras of the Joan Rusical and analyze each performance, we praise Jessica Wild for being iconic talking about tacos and guacamole, more snake behavior, sewn looks, and Carson’s gay life.
