  • EPISODE #15 ABOUT CYN TAYLOR
Cyn Taylor and I couldn’t get the interview to record, so I’m telling you a little about this Romantic Suspense writer.
Cyn Taylor lives and plays in Knoxville Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. She and husband Brent live on his family farm at the peak of Thunder Ridge along with a feral cat and other woodland creatures who come round to visit. They have two adult children and seven grandchildren.

As a former freelance photo journalist, Cyn has written faith, community and feature articles.
Cyn gets some of the best inspiration for her books when she accompanies Brent on fly fishing excursions to the Smokies. He fishes. She writes. Life is good.
After four years Brianna Walters was finally making headway in forcing her late husband’s ghost to the recesses of her mind rather than the forefront of her heart. She had immersed herself into her company, deciding that no man could replace Grant. That was until she met Vic Andrews.

Vic stormed into her present and was charming his way into her future. Something about him reminded her of Grant. At least that was what Bree told herself. Vic’s personality, initially, seemed to be the exact opposite of Grant’s but in looks he had so many similar characteristics Bree began struggling to keep them separated in her mind; even to the point of calling Vic by Grant’s name at a most inopportune moment.

Now another company wanted to initiate a merger with hers and the owner was pushing but reclusive. Bree began having feelings of being watched and followed; sensations that materialized into an actual attack that left Bree feeling vulnerable, as well as suspicious of Vic. She wondered if God had grown tired of her rebellion and truly abandoned her.

Would she be able to cope with the turmoil that entered her life with Vic, or would Vic’s demands that she erase her husband’s memories forever from her mind and heart and choose him drive a wedge between them that only God could dissolve? And could Bree make that decision before God allowed Vic to be taken out of her life as well? On a very permanent basis!

Glory Donaghan has a wonderful church, a devoted family, and a flourishing career. She feels God’s hand on every aspect of her life.

That life flips when Glory awakens in a hospital bed accused of drug abuse by Tanner Slade, a man she’d just met. Her problems compound when the infuriating angler continues to involve himself in her life.

When Glory tries to help an abused teen, more complications arise, and her own life is threatened. Her perfect world disintegrates, along with her faith.

Tanner Slade knows drug users are deceptive and fights his growing attachment to Glory. He refuses to allow his heart to rule his head a second time.

Presented with an opportunity to leave Tennessee and the turmoil behind, Glory battles her conscience while Tanner Slade engages in a war with her heart.

The romantic setting of the Great Smoky Mountains and the sport of fly fishing bring Tanner and Glory together. Their conflicted hearts need a lesson in trust, if life will allow them time to discover their true pat

Adult coloring books are popular for a lot of reasons — coloring is a stress-free, therapeutic activity. We loved to color when we were kids, so why not enjoy it as grown ups?
And coloring for adults isn’t all fun and games — it actually increases frontal lobe brain activity, allowing us to better focus. Studies of all types are popping up, announcing other benefits of coloring for adults, including increasing creativity, decreasing stress, enhancing productivity, and more.
As writers, we need to focus, right? So, if the benefits of coloring for adults include both increased creativity and focus, why not combine coloring with brainstorming?
That’s exactly what I’ve done with my new coloring books for writers series.
In addition to inspirational/motivational writing quotes, The Coloring Book for Writers Volume I features coloring sheets plus brainstorming exercises to spark your creativity.
    How does it work?
Simply read one of the brainstorming exercises. While you’re brainstorming, color one of the sheets, then jot down notes about the ideas you come up with. It’s that easy — and, it’s that fun!

  • THAT’S MY BOOK EPISODE #10 WITH LAUREAN BROOKS
Today our guest is humorous historical romance writer, Laurean Brooks. Laurean’s first book with us releases tomorrow November 14, 2017. She’s written a couple of other books before this one, and we’re happy she decided to join our family.
Laurean Brooks lives in rural northwest Tennessee with her flea-marketing/antique-hunting husband, two labs and a cat. She writes inspirational romance with heart, humor, and unpredictable characters. Chivalrous heroes stand by to rescue their ladies from a plethora of disasters along the way. Her sassy heroines are familiar with the taste of their own shoe leather. “Foot-in-mouth” disease prevails throughout her stories.
Ms. Brooks’ over-active imagination wrought trouble in fifth grade when she was assigned to write about, “The Adventures of Columbus.” Laurean’s version should have been titled, “The “Mis”-adventures of Columbus.” Evidently her teacher did not approve, because after Laurean read the comical story to the class, she demanded a complete rewrite.

  • MEET BROOKE COX
Meet funny lady, Brooke Cox. Brooke enjoys humor, and she’s been a friend for several years. Out of that friendship grew the book we published by Brooke, Deadly Doll. Deadly Doll can be purchased on Amazon.com at amazon.com/…book/dp/B0135MT4ME/ref=sr_1_2
My name is Brooke Cox and the one thing that I have never inspired to be is normal.  Normal is a setting used for appliances.  I loved being quirky (fun while being different) and creative.  In fact, Deadly Doll came from my desire to reach out to others who don’t quite fit in with everybody else.
As for me, I have been married for 32 years to my high school sweetheart, Tim.  We have a beautiful daughter Sara, who just turned 25 years old.  We love the Lord.  And we love having fun and adventure.
I started writing before I could write.  I loved Snoopy.  Still do. I saw the comic pictures of him typing out stories while sitting on top of his doghouse.   I thought, “Why can’t I do that?”  So, I began to make up my own stories and I would have relatives write them down for me.
After I had my daughter, I became serious about the craft of writing.  I took writing classes and attended writer’s conferences.  And I have been a member of the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) for at least 10 years.
Deadly Doll is my first novel and my first mystery.  I love reading and watching mysteries.  After I finished a mystery book I had checked out from the library, again I thought “Why can’t I do that?”  I did some research on writing mysteries and it went from there.
Deadly Doll was a 2016 Selah Finalist for Debut Novel.  And it also made the Inspy 2016 Mystery / Thriller Longlist.
You can learn more about Brooke by visiting her blog: Brooke Cox’s Blog
Adventurous twelve-year old Brooksie discovered a hidden room in her grandparent’s attic. She opened up an old hat box and found her mother’s favorite childhood doll wrapped up inside. Brooksie’s great-grandfather sent it from Alaska and it was believed to have burned in the trash pile years ago. After showing it to her father, he takes it from her. A few days later he was murdered and the doll becomes a faded memory until it reappeared six years later after a freak accident. What was it about the doll that people kept hiding it? Could finding the doll have played a part in her dad’s murder? If the doll had remained hidden would he still be alive? Brooksie and her best friend Darlene delve deep into the doll mystery which has them learning about a past that Brooksie never knew existed.
Along the way, Brooksie’s thirst for adventure and acceptance has the girls stumbling on the edge of danger. What shocking family secrets might she find and could they change her life? Will she finally understand why God made her so different from the rest of her family and will it draw her closer to Him? Can Brooksie finally accept who she is?
