  • FBOTD Minisode III: Sustainable Beverages
Did someone say #minisodeonthemove? No one did, but we did it anyway! For this FBOTD minisode, host Anastasia is taking her fun beverage on a walk so she can talk about sustainable beverages. But she quickly realizes that a fun, unnecessary beverage and sustainability don’t necessarily go hand in hand. So how do we successfully reduce our impact on the Earth while still enjoying the fun beverages we’re here on this Earth to drink? Plus, here our take on a new product to the Co-op: LOOP Mission juices. As part of our miniseries, this episode is the perfect length to take a quick beverage-inspired walk. Enjoy!

Looking for a last minute holiday gift? Look no further than the Littleton Food Co-op! Our intrepid podcast host Anastasia is back once again with a way to get all of your shopping done while you do your regular grocery shopping, too. To step it up from last year’s gift guide, this year we’re giving you the 2022 That’s Rad Sustainable Gift Guide. There are many ways to think of sustainability when it comes to the holiday season, and we tried to encompass them all. The gift ideas Anastasia shares in this episode use very little to no plastic packaging thanks to the Bulk Department. October is a big month for the Littleton Food Co-op. So big that we needed two new podcast episodes to fit in everything we wanted to say! Now, host Anastasia sits down with Littleton Food Co-op General Manager Ed King to discuss how fair trade and other “specialty sourcing” labels and certifications affect our own co-op. Find out how we choose what goes on the shelves, labels we trust, and Ed’s personal advice for being a “smart shopper.” We know you didn’t know there would be a bonus October episode, but we promise that this one beats all of your expectations.

  • Episode XVI: Equal Exchange
October is National Co-op Month and Fair Trade Month, and the latest episode of That’s Rad is here to celebrate both. Host Anastasia is joined for this episode by Danielle Robidoux, Organizer with Equal Exchange and the Citizen-Consumer initiative. Equal Exchange is a pioneer in the modern day fair trade movement, and what you might not know from seeing their bananas, coffee, and chocolate bars is that they’re also a cooperative. Danielle and Anastasia sit down for an honest conversation about the challenges facing the fair trade movement, how cooperative principles influence a global worker cooperative, and what our role as individuals and as cooperatives should be in the fight for a fair economy. This episode is perfect for anyone who wants to think more critically about how their food is made; or if you just want to hear more of Anastasia.

  • Episode XXV: Golden Girl Granola
Fall has arrived in the That’s Rad podcast-universe! To kick off the season, host Anastasia is joined by Deborah O’Kelly of Golden Girl Granola in Shirley, MA. They talk about how granola is often branded as a “fall food” (like we’re doing right now), but the truth is that a blend of oats, nuts, berries, and seeds can be so much more than that. You may have thought you reached the pinnacle of granola-ness by using it as a yogurt topping; you would be surely mistaken. Deborah also shares more about Golden Girl’s local sourcing philosophy, the health benefits of granola, and the greatest hiking snack hack that Anastasia can’t stop thinking about.
