My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
For he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
For he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
He has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
As he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.
That's all you really need. Thanks be to God.

Jesus' message was all about Resistance. As we prepare our hearts this Advent season, we learn about the things Jesus asked us to resist. This week, it's "sentimentality."

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May the Lord cause the divine face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you
May the Lord lift the divine countenance upon you, and give you peace.

We're nearing the end of our series praying through great prayers of the Hebrew Bible. This week, we confess with Ezra to the sins of our culture, which we know that we participate in and benefit from.

Shield the ears of your little ones for this one. Katie said WTF a lot, because it seems biblically necessary. Your prayer repertoire should include a Please prayer, and Thank You prayer, a Wow prayer, and a WTF prayer. Pray it like you stole it.

Continuing in our "Pray It Like You Stole It" series, we talked about what is known as Solomon's prayer for wisdom. It's actually a prayer for discernment, a prayer to learn what God wants for God's people. How can we pray that same prayer for Galileo for the next season?

This week, we baptized two persons into the life of finding out what God wants, wanting that, and then earnestly praying for it as if we thought of it ourselves. Just like David did. Pray it like you stole it, Church.
