We definitely weren't done talking about Berlin, so we got Aaron, noted Kipchoge devotee and friend of the pod, to come on and talk with us. We got his takes on the record, plus we got to talk about Claus-Henning Schulke (aka Drinks Guy), the results of Rock n Roll Philadelphia, and WADA's giant disappointment of a decision to reinstate RUSADA. We also talked about Jordan Hasay's unfortunate withdrawal from Chicago.

The events of Sunday, September 16 were so fantastic that they required a bonus pod. This pod is that bonus pod. Enjoy!

We're at the end of Diamond League! Who can believe it? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were wrapping up the indoor season, and now we're looking forward to another round of marathons and cross country. This week, we're recapping the DL finals, talking about the one interview where Galen Rupp hasn't come off like a robot, and we're breaking the Hoka Long Island Mile results live (and then also two days late because that's how podcasts work.)

This week we got to talk to Alex Hutchinson, the author of "Endure" and owner of the @sweatscience account you probably see on your timeline a lot. We chatted about the NYC and Chicago pro fields, talked about all of the unfortunate doping news that's come out in the past week, and then got to talk about running with Alex both from a science-focused perspective and about his personal running history and experience, plus some listener questions and perhaps even the beginnings of the Peanut Butter Peace Accords.

This week, we talked big race results and regrettably had no peanut butter-based banter! We talked Falmouth, the Birmingham Diamond League meet, Leadville, and an Australian cyclist who took a BUNCH of drugs and got caught.

That was a good pun and you know it. You laughed, or at least groaned internally.
So obviously we talked Euros, we also talked about the strange rule allowing for Mondo Duplantis' American record set in the European Championship, and we talked about the Groundhog Day that is USATF and Eugene, OR, thanks to Erin Strout's column in Runner's World this week.

Long time listener, first time interview! We talked to Ryan Smith this week, who was the First Mainer at Beach to Beacon this year and is the University of Maine—Farmington Assistant Track/XC Coach! He filled us in on his background, training, shoe prefs, and a couple of big events he's got coming up for him! We also talked the Chicago elite fields and the track event on ESPN Ocho.

As you probably know if you have a Twitter or Instagram account, we're now just under two years out from Tokyo 2020. This is very exciting news, and in celebration, we picked the distance squad for Team USA. Well, Letsrun did, and then we decided how right or wrong they were. We also talked about some bits of news that have come out from the IAAF in the last week, some of which were shockingly good! We also got to answer some good listener questions and Alex got upset about peanut butter again.

We had a whole lot of pro news to talk about this week! 5K American record, Monaco and London, plus a new training club from...Reebok? After the pro news, we were lucky enough to talk to Zach Merrin, ultrarunner and apparently ultradrinker, about his regular running and the interesting FKT he went after a couple of weeks ago. Yep, we're talking about the Bicentennial: 100 miles, 100 beers, and just 80 hours to complete the two. Not your normal ultra, but definitely interesting to follow along with!

That New York Times study on the Vaporfly 4% came out a few hours before we recorded, so we knew we had to talk about it. We also discussed whether prototype shoes are against IAAF rules and whether they're "fair" plus we had some takes on a couple of tweets from Kyle Merber and Des Linden!
We went a little short this week, so if you're looking for more podcasts, check out the ones on citiusmag.com!
