This week, the 2 LADS take a helicopter to the top of the mountain to get a look at their best selves. That helicopter being metaphorical of course, or possibly hallucinogenic, as Daniel and Leggy get back into a discussion on psychedelics, a.k.a. journeying and plant medicine. This time, they break down the various types of plant medicine including heart, spirit and body. Their main takeaway being that the ultimate goal in dabbling in these psychedelics is to better see yourself in order to work through your traumas and be a better person. Enjoy the trip!
The https://the2lads.com/ (2 LADS podcast) tackles big topics with brutal honesty and vulnerability; replacing shame and guilt with truth and love in the quest for emotional and spiritual growth. These conversations are unflinching, uncomfortable, funny... and ongoing.
JUMP STRAIGHT INTO:
(01:52) - The Check In - “I can't control my temper in a way that is grounded, and I'm trying to learn to be a little more understanding.”
(12:10) - Secrets and psychedelics- “I remember somebody saying to me early on, ‘If you've got any secrets within you, be careful because they are going to come to the surface.’”
(14:27) - The helicopter analogy explained - “You don't come away and go, ‘Well, this is it. I’m fixed now.’ But you see things so clearly.”
(15:28) - Why people are afraid to try journeying - “Most people don't consider any of this shit. They're just living on the grind.”
(20:01) - Spirit Medicine - “The first time we did it, it was like going on the set of Avatar, the movie. And he took ayahuasca. James Cameron. Before he wrote that. And it makes perfect sense.”
(22:25) - Plant-based reactions - “It's a piece of code that you're taking and It's telling your brain to turn up the heat on these chemicals. You’re the walking drugstore. Anything to shut down the receptors that are making you reactive.”
(28:40) - Body Medicine - “My body is so much more intelligent than I give it credit for.”
(34:05) - Plant medicine won’t solve your problems - “It's seeing the scar tissue and then beginning to work with that scar tissue in a way of saying, ‘This is no longer serving the body that I am in right now.”
(35:13) - There are many tools that will help you look at yourself, this is just a really good one - “If you’re really committed to finding out who you are, warts and all, full spectrum, good, bad, everything in between, all the mistakes you've made, all of the wins, everything, it's just profound.”
