“Primetime” Deion Sanders was nothing short of extraordinary. He lived the gimmick, on and off the field, for his tenure as an active athlete. Between balancing his family life, his professional baseball career, or his NFL career, he did it to the best of his ability, which was really good. In this episode, Matt covers Deion Sanders NFL career in a biopic for winning the “Greatest Trash Talkers” tournament.

When people talk about the greatest teams in NFL History, they’ll almost always give the usual suspects the nod. The ‘72 Dolphins, the 84’ 49ers, the ‘85 Bears, and the ‘07 Patriots. Often overlooked, because they weren’t a team of flashy athletes. They were tough, hard nosed and old school. Symbolizing the days of the NFL where you could hit hard and not get a flag for it. The days when you didn’t need 300+ yards passing every week to win a game.

The 1991 Washington Redskins are that team, and true fans of the sport know, that Washington belongs in that discussion every time. The Hogs. Art Monk. Mark Rypien. One of the best committee of Running Backs All-Time. That tough defense, and of course, their quality kicker, Chip Lohmiller. Here is a review of their 1991 season, every game, the touchdowns for, the touchdowns against, and everything in between of this under-appreciated team.

Kickers and punters. Often looked over as not so important (not as much as linemen), but many games have come down to a Kicker, or once in a while, a well placed punt. In this episode, Andrew Lenz chooses to discuss some of the all time best kickers and punters, who are every bit swaggy as the rest of their teammates!

Also, Andrew and Matt play the very first “Fantasy Draft Game” , on the show, drafting an All-Time Miami Dolphins team!

Jeffrey Jason Garcia was always told no. Upon completing college, he was not selected in the the 1994 Draft, due to the common belief at the time that smaller quarterbacks could not succeed. After 5 successful seasons in the CFL, he joined the San Francisco 49ers as the backup to Steve Young. Called to start after a career ending injury to Young, he never looked back. Leading 3 different teams to 4 playoff appearances, his had quite a career!

Listen in for a summary of his career, his statistics, and then some, in the first official episode of Year 2 for The 2-pt Conversation

Athletic. Playmaker. Unstoppable. Polarizing. Controversial. All 5 words can accurately describe the NFL career of Michael Dwayne Vick. Bringing a style of “Quarterbacking” that is often imitated but never duplicated, Vick was what nearly every kid across the world wished they could be. The ability to navigate a large stretch of field, while making defenders look silly, was groundbreaking when MV7 suited up.

On this episode of The 2-pt Conversation, the runner up of our “32 #1s” Facebook Poll Tournament (Peyton Manning already has an episode) is the focus. His playing career, which can never be erased from history, not the bad times, and the off-field issues. Relive the high times and redemption of the Michael Vick Experience

Professional Football and Video Games has not always been a happy arrangement. There has been a lot of good, and a lot of bad. Awesome features and some really bad ones (*cough cough* Madden Cards. The ability to simulate an NFL Game has become more accurate over the years with diverse and detailed play calling, realistic graphics, and franchise modes. It’s been fun, seeing early Sega and Nintendo versions of NFL Titles compared to what is available now.

Joining Matt for this episode, is Andrew Osborne, a New York Jets fan, who converses some of his favorite features along the years, their favorite memories of playing the video games, a Top 5 NFL Video Game list, and a New York Jets themed “First Thoughts” game!
