Still hanging out at Nickel City Con for this episode, Matt covers the oft-under appreciated career of Warren Moon. A career that spanned 22 years, between the CFL and NFL, and a few different teams along the way. Moon is a Hall of Fame player for both leagues, and gets a bit of a biopic in this episode.

Nickel City Con was loaded with friends and fans alike. Matt interviews Russ Pacenzia, host of The Closed Fist podcast, as well as Sport’s Assassins, formerly of the Empire Sports Network, a huge media outlet for Buffalo Sports in the 90’s and early 2000’s, as well as a quick talk with his nephew Mikey about his love of football, trading card collection, and first year of fantasy football experience.

Grab a Snack. Split it up. Brace yourself. This is our longest episode to date, and packed with laughs and great conversation. Kenny, a San Francisco 49ers fan, Andy, a Miami Dolphins fan, and host Matt, and Indianapolis Colts fan. Kenny and Andy are returning guests. All 3, great friends, with very different viewpoints on pro football. That’s the beauty, and fun of it all.

All three men give their very early, pre-pre-season rankings, from worst to first, all 32 NFL Teams. Some similar, but mostly very different. Hear there takes, why the teams are where they are at, and the love of football that Kenny, Andy and Matt have in this stacked episode of The 2-pt Conversation.

Indianapolis has turned a new leaf. The previous 3 years, as a fan, had been hard to watch, after witnessing a strong AFC and NFL presence over the last decade and a half. Under Head Coach Frank Reich, and maybe, most importantly, GM Chris Ballard, the Indianapolis Colts appear to be set up for long term success.

Joining Matt for this episode, is an old friend, and fellow Colts fan, Marquise “M80” Jackson, to discuss what it has been like to be a fan of the team over the years, their optimism for the future. Also, Matt brings back his “First Thoughts” Game for the first time since August!

The very first Super Bowl was the beginning of something special. I’m sure, little did the NFL and AFL executives at the time, know how big that the Super Bowl would become, but it is. It’s one of the biggest events in Major Sports, a major gathering for family and friends, and so much more in between.

In this episode, Matt discusses the beginning discussions of the “AFL-NFL World Championship Game”, the respective League Championship games that brought the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs to the big dance, as well as some statistics that go hand in hand with the earliest iteration of Pro Football’s Biggest Game

Ryan Fitzpatrick has had quite the NFL Career. The highest of highs. The lowest of lows. Whether you like him or hate him, Ryan Fitzpatrick should be respected, as he’s done his best to stay relevant in the NFL over 14 years. A great guy, family man and all, Fitzpatrick has had some incredible moments.

For winning The 2-pt Conversation Facebook Poll Tournament for “Greatest Journeyman QB on 5+ Teams”, this episode is dedicated to “Fitzmagic”, and his journey from Harvard QB, to one of the most popular Journeymen Quarterbacks of all time.

Alternate Realities. A theme commonly explored in science fiction. Comics, tv shows, movies and video games have all dealt with the idea of life happening a different way. Being a huge sci-fi buff myself, I decided to bring that take to my favorite form of entertainment, the National Football League.

In this episode, Seattle Seahawks fan Donny McCoy returns to the show to discuss the effects and consequences of certain draft picks being made, and what the NFL would look today if those picks actually happened. Looking at the 2012, 2005, 2004, 1998 and 1983 drafts, Donny and myself try our best to paint a new and different present of the NFL.
