This week I chat with Danny Jacobs of Arizona State University about radio telescopes, the cosmic dawn, and… sandwiches. And maybe camels… I'm just sayin'. Oh, and cancer butter. Yeah.
Special thanks to The Ohio State University’s Center for Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics for hosting this recording session.

Ep. 385: Rovers on the Run
Taking pictures of distant worlds is great and all, but the best science happens with boots on the ground. Or in this case... wheels. This week we'll talk all about robotic rovers and the places they rove.

We know so much about the Universe that it’s hard to believe there are any big mysteries left to solve…but there are! One of the biggest mysteries in astronomy is about one of our closest neighbors: our very own Sun!
The Sun’s surface is covered in interesting features. And just like the Earth, the Sun has an atmosphere. It’s called the Corona.

Your intrepid Producer & Editor Richard Drumm grabbed some interviews while at Dragon Con this August. Here we learn about Stephen Ramsden of the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project. The Project is a non-profit educational program and could really use your help in getting its educational opportunities to kids in the region.
The third annual fundraiser for the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project is going on now. It's a 501c3 that survives solely off of public donations. Each $100 US donation earns you a chance to win a Lunt Solar Systems pressure tuned LS80/B1200 Hydrogen Alpha solar telescope.
You can donate to them and see the raffle particulars at: http://www.solarastronomy.org/

Ep. 384: Escaping Probes
The gravity of the Earth is a tough thing to escape, but breaking free from the gravity of the Sun is on a whole other level. But humans have achieved this amazing accomplishment, and right now there are several spacecraft leaving the Solar System and never coming back.

If you throw a plastic bottle in the trash bin today, that bottle will sit in a landfill, or float in the ocean, for hundreds of years.
No one knows what Earth will be like in hundreds of years from now. But we know that that plastic bottle will still be a plastic bottle!
What can we do to stop this from happening?
