Last time, we talked about the five stages of growing your business to seven figures. This week, I want to dive a little deeper into these stages, starting with the first two: the Dream-Up Stage and the Startup Stage.

The Dream-Up Stage is the most exciting—and terrifying—stage of business. It’s all about doing exactly what it’s named for: dreaming up every aspect of your business, from what service you hope to provide to your ideal client to the tone of your brand messaging. Even so, the Startup Stage is actually the most stressful stage of business, because it requires you to put in so much effort as the CEO to get your business off the ground.

What do both of these stages have in common? In both, it can feel nearly impossible to figure out what you need to focus on in order to grow your business quickly. Let me tell you exactly where you need to shift your attention in order to get through these stages quickly and efficiently.

If you are finding yourself unable to scale your business to the next level…the problem might be your dedication to helping it grow. Not a lack of dedication, but an excess of it.

When we become too hands-on with the day-to-day operations of our business, the business begins to rely on us to keep it growing the way we want. But no one person is able to juggle that many balls, and eventually, some are going to get dropped.

The result of this? Cash flow drops. Growth slows. You panic, pick everything back up, and keep carrying it until you see your business begin to grow again. But then your team becomes overwhelmed with the new workload, you have to step in to help, you drop the balls you’re juggling again…and the process repeats itself.
