  • Pod #26: Living Your Life On Purpose With God
Have you ever tried to steer a parked car? It’s impossible. The same is with us. God cannot help steer us in the direction He would have us go if we aren’t moving, going somewhere.
We need God for everything in our life but God wants us to grow and live our lives on purpose. God gave us a brain for a reason and I think it was so that we can solve many of our own problems and then ask Him if we are on the right track.
Come listen to this episode where I talk about how to include God in our lives but not wait for Him to do everything for us and then go and start your life’s “car” and get going on why God put you here in the first place.

  • Pod #25: Learning To Draw The Line
One of the most important things I think we can do to live our live on purpose is to learn when and where to implement boundaries. The mistake we all make is thinking that boundaries are unloving and un-Christ like. I think it’s just the opposite. I think when we don’t implement boundaries when needed we are then being truly unloving and un-Christ like. Brene Brown teaches that some of the most loving, compassionate, and empathetic people are ones who have boundaries. Boundaries are a beautiful thing. Come listen to learn more about them and how to put them into your life.

  • Special Episode: A Cup Of Joel #4 : Be In The World But Not Of The World
It’s that time of the month were we all get to hear the wisdom of my good friend Joel Harper. This month I have to say is my favorite yet. Joel does a great job breaking down the different definitions that Heavenly Father gives us of “the world”, and our place in each. I hope you come away uplifted and with a new perspective of this somewhat confusing doctrine. Enjoy!

  • Pod #22: A Lesson Learned From Mary, The Mother Of Jesus
I have no doubt that all of us have much doubt when it comes to our abilities as mothers. If there is a mother out there that thinks she has it all figured out, please send her my way because I’d love to know her secret. But just like anything in life, I think Heavenly Father expects us to mother in darkness so that we can rely on Him and have a large dose of faith and hope. We learn of the faith we need in this role from probably one of the most talked about mothers in all of history, Mary the mother of Jesus. When she was asked to become the mother of the Savior of the world she didn’t ask how or demand to know all the answers. She simply said yes and placed her trust in God to help her. That is what each of us is also asked to do. To simply do our best as mothers and then rely heavily on God to help us as we stumble and fail and then pick ourselves up and keep going. Warning: I cry on todays episode, but it’s who I am and I’m trying to be real and it’s because I know so many who are struggling with their children and their ability as mothers. I believe in you and I know heaven believes in you to. You are exactly the mother your children need!
    Enjoy!

The Christmas season is one of anticipation, yummy food, beautiful decorations, and sweet music. Also, learn how a particular childhood Christmas and the anniversary of the passing of my sister from leukemia molded me into the person I am today.

  • Pod #20: My Interview With Emily Hepworth About Her Son Ethan Who Has Down syndrome
We all dream of having happy and healthy children, but sometimes life doesn’t always turn out as we had hoped and the path we thought we were headed down changes. Today I interview Emily Hepworth who is pregnant with her second son, a boy named Ethan who has Down Syndrome. I reached out to Emily because I knew that she would be honest in her feelings about finding out she was going to have a child with Down Syndrome and because I think this is a subject that will help a lot of people. Many may not find themselves with a Down Syndrome child, but we may find ourselves in situations that are different than what we planned. This is part of an at least 3 part series in interviewing Emily. I wanted to get her feelings during the big milestones of Ethan’s life. Today we talk about what it was like to find out Ethan has Down Syndrome and what her expectations, fears, and hopes for his future look like. Enjoy!

  • Cup Of Joel #3: Sin Vs. Weakness
We all sin and we all have weaknesses. The mistake we make far too often is that we think that weakness is a sin. Listen to why Joel thinks this is an essential concept to grasp. His brain started pondering this subject more and more after reading an Ensign article in the April 2015 issue by Wendy Ulrich entitled "It Isn't a Sin to Be Weak". If you struggle with the fact that you have weaknesses and think they may be linked to sin, this episode is for you. And here's the link to the article mentioned above.
