  • Ep55 - The One (2001) with Matthew Essary

Returning to talk about a true classic today we have Matthew Essary! Talking about the excellent 2001 Jet Li sci-fi flick "The One" which also happens to star another actor you may have heard of called Jason Statham. Jet pulls double duty here though, playing both the protagonist and antagonist of the film and given plenty of room to flex his acting muscles in the process. This is one you don't want to miss!

  • Ep51 - Power Rangers Forever Red with Amit Bhaumik

Today on the show we have the very definition of the term one off. Talking specifically about a 22 minute episode of Power Rangers, not something we are likely to repeat but this one is special. Forever Red was the 10th anniversary celebration of the show made during the final American made season of the show and the final show made during Saban's original ownership.

Forever Red brings 10 Red Rangers, 1 from each of the previous seasons and teams them up to take down a previous villain in the form of the Machine Empire. This type of format has never been repeated and makes this episode stand out despite 30 years worth of stories to compare with. The episode was also directed by the legendary Koichi Sakamoto and features a lot of great action in the second half of the episode.

Joining me today we have Amit Bhaumik who was at the time the head writer for the show and is the writer of this episode. We hear how he came up with the idea for the shows structure, some stories during production and also go off topic a little bit. You expect it at this point right?

  • Ep49 - Ong-Bak (2003) with Jeof Vita

Today's episode on the show is about Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior. The Tony Jaa classic that put him on the map in a big way and is celebrating it's 20th year anniversary here in 2023, time flies when you're having fun I'm told.

Joining me today we have a very special guest today in the form of Jeof Vita the host of the Kung Fu Drive-In Podcast! A show I've been listening to for years, long before I thought about doing this or discovered many of my friends and former guests of this show.

  • Ep48 - Cobra (1986) with Jessica Scott

Today's episode is all about the 1986 Sylvester Stallone lead film Cobra. Crime is the disease, he's the cure!

We are joined by first time guest but horror film extraordinaire and film critic Jessica Scott! This was a first time watch for Jessica and it's a great conversation about this action classic.

Cobra has a really interesting backstory about how it came to be and was once considered extremely violent.=, oh how times have changed!
