There are no easy answers. Be cautious if someone tells you that they can help you stop negative thoughts. Yes, there are tricks out there, but they don't always work for you as they do for the other person. I've said this a bunch of times, we are individuals, and we need to find our way of fixing ourselves. Books and experts can help give ideas, but in the end, it is up to us to heal ourselves. 

Okay, so this sounds crazy and undoable, but I'm here to tell you it isn't as undoable as you may think. It might be a little crazy, but it's an excellent exercise for you and others who don't understand what it's like living with ADHD. So I'm challenging you to give this exercise a try. Don't give up if it seems impossible. I'll give you hints over the following few podcasts to help you along or email Patti and me here.  

I can honestly say I am great at conning myself into thinking I will remember that great idea I had at 3:31 in the morning on a Thursday. I will completely believe in myself that I will remember that thought later in the day. Of course, it's a con most of the time because with ADHD, there is so much going on in that brain of mine that that great idea flew out the window, and unless another thing like a video or blog post happens to trigger that idea again, it's gone for good. At least most of the time. Does that make it a bad thing? Nope. It's just like with ADHD.

Therapists are a dime a dozen, but listeners are rare, and every day I thank the boss for listeners like you. If it wasn't for you, I don't know where I would be. You may not have known that you are my therapist. That's okay, you know now, and again I thank you. Talking or podcasting is my therapy, and if it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't be here. Thanks. Some days I should record later than earlier. Today, for example, I was more excited than ever to record the podcast, and the flow of thoughts was exciting. Even my delivery timing seemed to be better than early mornings. I don't know; maybe this is a great time to record. Then again, maybe not. I hope you enjoy the show.   

I decided that it was a great day to make chili for, I believe, the 4th or 5th time. It's still an experiment in the making, and if we make it through the weekend, I'll let you know how it was on Monday. Please keep your fingers crossed. I may even give you the recipe if it is a hit. If not, then use yours or a better one on the web. 

Years ago, a friend told me that making resolutions for the New Year was a waste of time. I didn't believe him and continued on making resolutions and usually not completing them. When he asked me one yea how far I had gotten with my resolution, I told him the truth, and he just laughed and said: "See, I told you so." That's when I listened to his idea of revolutions—tiny battles leading to a big battle that you are now ready for.   

Last year at this time, I had quit podcasting, thinking my time had passed. Then some great emails came my way asking for my return and to continue doing what I was doing. I was helping some with their lives, which made me feel good and changed my wrong decision to quit. I started up again, and here we are in 2022, moving full steam ahead. I can't wait to see what this year brings. Thank you for listening all of last year! 

Today I was inspired by Patti to do what I enjoy. Who or what inspires you daily? As for me, I was down and semi-lost with thoughts of doing nothing until after the 19th, when surgery is planned. After talking with Patti this morning, she gave me the attitude to do what makes me happy and not think about what's coming. So here I am.  

There are some things going on which I may talk about at a later date, but for now, I'll be taking a little longer break than expected, or at least I may. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do, but listen in for more information.
