This week's adventure is taken in the company of Isik Tlabar, an empowerment coach and breathwork facilitator who works primarily with teachers, coaches and facilitators, directing them to their magnificence.
Taylor and Isik have a rolling discussion on connection, joy, curiosity and how to bring all of these things into the adventure of your life, as well as giving permission to let them in to your hearts. Along the way they talk about conscious kink and what happens when you miss a flight at the airport.
Relationships go into a dead end when you look at someone and think I know who you are, I know how you work, I know what you do and don’t like, and then we put people into a box. But those people are always growing, and when we’re curious about them it make us want to find out more about ourselves as well.I tune into my clients’ greatness, their true nature, their purpose, what they’re here for, and one reflection I often get is ‘I kind of know this, but the fact that you don’t know me and have tuned into me and told me all these things is giving me the extra permission, now I’m actually going to do something about it.’We tell ourselves we can’t do things because I’m not good enough, people won’t like me if I do that, or I’ll be rejected, and we tone ourselves down, but the ability is always there waiting to come out.If you plant a seed, you can’t see it growing underground. But because you’re not seeing the results straight away can sometimes feel demoralising or that you’ve failed and it’s not working. That’s why it’s so important to keep an eye on your vision, where you wan to go whilst taking little steps and trusting that you’re doing what you need to do to get there.Imagine if we just planned everything and there was no space in your life for adventure. There’d be no room for meaningful relationships with anyone else. Also, always chasing new experiences can be destructively addictive.‘The day we stop learning is the day we stop being curious. Curiosity brings aliveness.’
‘Fear of failure makes us little kids in an adult’s body.’
‘You’ve got to give yourself the right elements for your self-actualisation to flourish.’
‘Instead of blaming others for what’s going wrong, accept it and own it and move on. You are your own guarantee.’
‘Everything is great in balance and that’s why you need a structure.’
