I've know Niki for many years, having taught her children to windsurf when I worked out at Club Vass!
Niki is the definition of positive vibes. It's one of the reasons I'd been wanting to get her on the podcast, her enthusiasm for yoga, staying positive and just life itself is infectious, and no doubt one of the reasons why, in a growing sea of yoga teachers, she stands out so much.
We discussed the physical and mental benefits of getting into yoga, why it's so much more inclusive than you think it and how COVID has helped get so many people on the mats.
A big thing we chatted about was getting her daughters into yoga at a young age. Giving young people a positive experience with something can be hard and it's a fine line with putting them off it. But yoga is different, giving people a sense of stillness and staying in the present moment is something that has no age limit.
It's been the part of yoga I've struggled with the most, my brain always darts to what I'm doing later or what I did previously and why it won't work this time. I'm excited to try and work on that side of it moving forward.
