The Aftermath

In this episode Dylan wanted to talk about music, in video games or otherwise, but I ended up rambling about certain artists I have been enjoying. I jest, mostly, we did have a great conversation about music from some great games. At the end we discussed the deep lore of The Nutcracker ballet, so that’s something to look forward to.

Welcome our fourth annual Hjönse Awards! I really wanted to give the other contenders a chance, but this one was a landslide from all parties. We have chosen the one and only Godzilla: Final Wars as this year’s recipient. For those of you who may not know. This award is given to a film or series that we thought was going to be bad, or had little expectation for, but turned out to be great and surprised us in some way. This film has everything, guns, lasers, aliens, all the monsters, a motorcycle fight scene, it truly is a wild ride; and worthy of this year’s Hjönse Award.

We are trying something new with this episode. Instead of our regular year end review episode we decided to look back on all the games released in 2023 and share our feelings on them. There were a ton of great games to talk about, and we covered them all, but I made sure to highlight the ones that would get the boys all frustrated too.

The Finale is upon us, and boy what a finale it was; I could not ask for more. Your friend that’s gone crazy is finally coming to his senses. The loss of a loved one, as her force ghost comes to reassure you everything will be alright. The coolest version of a legless superweapon from the past fights our psychic power super robots. We also finally find out what is in LaPlace’s Box!

This is the Mobile Suit Towing Company, we will tow your ship through space with our patent pending, Magic Powered Unicorn System. Call us for a quote today! Despite all the towing talk, we actually had a touching episode. Zinnerman reclaims his daughter in a touching moment. Also, for a second we think our nemesis, Full Frontal, is on our side, but that doesn’t last long.

Boy was there some trauma in the beginning of this series. The award for worst parents definitely goes to our main characters folks, that was rough. To make matters worse, the one girl  he is forced to be friends with tells him they are both Bio Freaks genetically made to control The Biggest Baddest Robot. He also has a rather handsy alter ego that is trying to kill everyone. How wholesome.

Another one bites the dust, five down and two more to go. Things are ramping up as we see our main man treated like a prisoner, but not for long. The Slap Man himself, Captain Bright, bails him out to save so he can save his true love. We get to see a cyber human get brainwashed, a simp put in his place, and last but not least, a full scale aerial fight with giant robots.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, Dylan and I had a little chat about the feast we just had. As well as just how tired we are after all the festivities. We talked about a potential new episode idea, and about how Dylan taught me the timeline Metal Gear. All while chilling out and having some of our favourite tea.

I’m really starting to think that you can’t have a Gundam show without a little trauma. Our guy Banagher is just trying his best, and he can’t catch a break even if he tried. We will see what happens next time on: “Why Do We Keep Putting Kids In Space Robots And Expecting Different Results?”

Welcome to the magical world of Earthsea. Don’t mind the fact that our crown prince just killed his father, he is going through a bit of a hard time right now. What with him being chased by his own shadow and all. Other than that everything’s going well, we don’t need magic or anything…
