August 11, 2025**Pegasos Suicide Clinic Controversy Continues** : New Family Come Forward About Death of Fit, Healthy Woman - 11/08/2025We were joined on The Agenda this morning by Delia Canning, whose sister ended their lives at a Swiss clinic in secret .Anne Canning (51), from Wales, travelled to the Pegasos clinic, near Basel, to end her life in January following the tragic death of her only son. She told her family she was going on holiday.Delia got in touch with us after hearing Megan's story on the programme last week.Delia says that her family are having very similar issues to those that Megan spoke to about in terms of the lack of communication from the clinic following the passing of her sister and in the lead up to the passing - Delia says their family were never informed. Meath have been denied a place on their local school bus this year.The review of the school transport scheme took three years to complete and was published in February 2024, almost 18 months ago. August 11, 2025Ashbourne Councillor Addresses Rumours About Proposed IPAS Centre in Ashbourne Hotel - 11/08/2025We were joined on The Agenda this morning by Sinn Fein Councillor in Ashbourne, Helen Meyer, who took to social media over the weekend to address what she calls the “widespread misinformation posted online regarding the recent purchase of the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne”.It's been confirmed that the Pillo hotel in Ashbourne has been purchased in recent weeks.The McDermott Group, who also own the Ashbourne Court Hotel and the Carnegie Court Hotel in Swords, have taken over the 156 room hotel from Inktech Vision Limited.Amid rumours the new owners have moved to stress that the Pillo hotel is not housing any international protection applicants nor do they have plans to do so in the future.In her post on social media, Helen urged the public to be cautious about the source of their news and called out people who spread misinformation online deliberately and without facing any consequences.Helen asked people to always verify their sources of information and she spoke to us about all of this.
