The push for answers continues as his family waits for clarity on what happened and why the case has taken so long to progress.

A disabled man’s family says he was left feeling humiliated after being denied boarding on a Ryanair flight because of the size of his wheelchair.

Jarek Marah, who has been paralysed since 2024 and requires 24-hour care, had only recently regained the confidence to travel abroad.

Irish artists are calling for stronger protections against artificial intelligence, amid concerns that music and other creative work is being used to train AI systems without permission or payment. As TDs debate new copyright measures, musicians are warning that creators must have greater control over how their work is used.

The Government has stopped short of an outright ban on e-scooters, instead introducing a series of tough new safety measures. From August, under-18s will be banned from using e-scooters, while helmets and high-visibility clothing will become mandatory.

Later this year, riders will also need a driving licence and registration, with the Government warning that a full ban remains an option if the new rules fail to improve safety.

A quiet summer evening in Skerries turned violent after a car was driven at a group of people during a public order incident, leaving three people injured and requiring hospital treatment.

The incident has shocked the local community, with Fine Gael TD Grace Boland, who also lives in Skerries, describing it as completely out of character for the town.

Concerns over e-scooter safety are growing, with calls for tighter regulation and greater checks on products being sold in Ireland.

Amazon has removed an e-scooter from its Irish website after concerns were raised that the model was not compliant with Irish regulations, while other retailers have also been urged to review the products they have available.

The concerns centre around some models being capable of speeds above the legal limit of 20 kilometres per hour on Irish roads. The issue comes as the Government considers further action following a number of serious incidents involving e-scooters, including injuries to children and young people.
