Ziltoid the Omniscient has overthrown the planet in his endless quest for the universe's best coffee (made his favorite way which is of course black). After his vicious attack, our very own Captain Spectacular flew into the unknown areas of 6th dimensional space in order to find the Benevolent Hivemind 9 to help him and the rest of humanity with their grim predicament. However, Ziltoid being the omniscient being that he is, beats our hero to the Hivemind and seeks it's help in undermining the humans. It doesn't go as planned and Ziltoid moves on to plan B... then plan C... then he loses track of the plan altogether... sorry SPOILERS. This is Ziltoid the Omniscient!

But there was trouble in paradise and her and Wyclef Jean's relationship was deteriorating rapidly. In fact, by the time today's album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" was released, Wyclef had married someone else and she had a child with Rohan Marley by the name of Zion. Eager to put the past behind her, this album goes through her trials and tribulations, and I think she comes out on top.

We have back Jimm Warren of Inspector 34 for the long lost follow-up to "Pet Sounds", one of the greatest albums of all time. That's right, we're talking about what was supposed to be the follow-up record, "Smile", and it's various incarnations throughout the years. First, some of the tracks released on "Smiley Smile", the actual follow-up record that stripped down lead songwriter Brian Wilson's vision to a more manageable record. Over the next several decades, bootlegs of what it was supposed to be started circulating and The Beach Boys even repurposed many of the songs, but it wasn't until 2004 that Brian Wilson's vision for the album was expounded upon. With his "Brian Wilson Presents Smile", he came as close as he could to finishing the work he had started as a 24 year old man, even writing new lyrics to replaced lost ones. It was another step closer to the real deal. In 2011, they took it a step further and completed the album using original recordings and the supervision of Brian Wilson to create what many to consider the definitive version, "The Smile Sessions". The first 19 tracks are the album as close to his vision as possible followed by hours of studio content. Now all you can do is sit back and wonder what The Beach Boys career would have been like if it had been completed all those years ago...

Guys... it's time. It's finally time to talk about Brad's humble beginnings in a Christian Pop Punk band long, long, ago in the 2000s... by the name of... Alakrity. It was then that Brad was a founding member, bass player, and backup vocalist for a small group out of Beloit, WI with big dreams. They traveled from coast to coast, using their three guitarists to melt faces with gnarly double guitar solos and three vocalists to then unmelt them with angelic three-part harmonies. To back all that up, there was a solid backbone of rhythm guitar, bass guitar, and solo-infused drums. There were various incarnations of the group throughout the years, but quite possibly the best incarnation included Phil Carper as the lead guitarist/vocalist/lyricist/everything, Brad as bassist/backup vocalist/occasional lyricist, Wayne "Grizzly" Adams as second lead guitarist/backup vocalist/also occasional lyricist, Peter Murray as the rhythm guitarist/Ford Taurus appreciator, and Andy Lutz on the drums. There were a few great years, a short time with a "record label", and culminating in a performance at Summerfest and an album recorded and produced in a fancy Nashville studio--but all was not sunshine and rainbows. Eventually for #REASONS, Wayne was let go of the band and a year later, Brad as well. But now, in this Alakrity Retrospective, Brad and Wayne are finally getting into their experience being in the group and creating the "You Are Here EP" together, as well as his thoughts on some of the songs from "Whatever Happened to Good TV" that he was involved with. If you've ever wondered what all those songs are about, wonder no more, because we're breaking them all down with Wayne and returning guest (and former Alakrity roadie) Vivid Jojo!!!

Bob Marley is a household name and his legacy stands for peace and one-ness with humanity (as well as smoking the dankness with your college buddies). But his legacy was almost cut short by violence. In 1976, while home in Jamaica, his house was shot up and he took some minor gunshot wounds. He was 2 days away from playing a concert in support of Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley amidst a tense political race, so it was likely a political move to undermine Michael Manley and his event, but Bob Marley played the show in spite of his injuries, saying "The people who are trying to make this world worse aren't taking a day off. How can I?" Although he performed the concert, he still made his exodus from Jamaica to what would be his new home in England. In "Exodus", Marley draws from all of his experiences from Babylon to Zion, and he takes you on that journey.
