Ami May of the Georgian Grizzlies Women's Basketball Program joins the All-Canadian Podcast for the third episode in Season Four!

Host Tyler Bennett is joined by Ami May, a first-year guard with the Georgian Grizzlies Women's Basketball Program, for the latest episode of The All-Canadian Podcast!

Bennett and May begin their discussion by talking about how fast time has flown to start the 2023-24 OCAA Women's Basketball season. The conversation quickly shifts to how Ami has adjusted to life in Barrie, Ontario after growing up in Alberta.

From there, May discusses playing basketball in Raymond, Alberta for her last two seasons of high school basketball where she won back-to-back provincial championships. May talks about the culture of the City of Raymond as a whole, and how it's engrained into everything that the city does.

That leads to a chat on May being recruited and committing to Georgian College, and what's led to both her own individual success and the team's early success to begin the 2023-24 campaign.

Host Tyler Bennett is joined by Seth McKenzie, a fifth-year guard with the Columbia Bible College Bearcats Men's Basketball Program, for the latest episode of The All-Canadian Podcast!

Bennett and McKenzie kick off the conversation by discussing the opportunities that are (or aren't) available for indigenous student-athletes at various ages. McKenzie talks about his own experiences growing up as an indigenous athlete and compares the opportunities that are available now versus when he was younger. He shares what he's currently working on with Treaty Hoops and the vision for the initiative going forward.

From there, Bennett and McKenzie discuss Seth's post-secondary journey, one that started with the CMU Blazers and is now in its final chapter with the Bearcats.

To close, McKenzie fields some light-hearted questions on some popular debate topics around the NBA.

Carter Bell of the Regina Cougars Men's Golf Program joins the All-Canadian Podcast!

Host Tyler Bennett is joined by Carter Bell, a second-year student-athlete with the Regina Cougars Golf Program, for the latest episode of The All-Canadian Podcast!

To kick off the chat, Bell and Bennett discuss the 2023 season for Bell and the Cougars, which was their second season competing in the Canada West. Bell shares a bit on how he got started in golf, which wasn't too long ago, and how he was able to achieve some early success. Bell also discusses some of the hurdles they've faced as student-athletes on a relatively new program.

Then, the conversation shifts to the mental side of being a student-athlete, and Bell shares some of his own experiences with balancing all that comes with being a varsity student-athlete at the post-secondary level.

Host Tyler Bennett is joined by Cooper Ward, a forward for the Medicine Hat Rattlers Men's Basketball Program, for the latest episode of The All-Canadian Podcast, powered by the All-Canadian Sports Network!

Almost one year to the day from his last appearance on the podcast, Ward joins the show to discuss a wide variety of topics on the heels of his first season in the ACAC with the Rattlers.

To open, Bennett and Ward discuss what summer life is like in Medicine Hat, Alberta and spend a few minutes catching up on life away from sport since their last podcast episode back on June 27th, 2022. Ward talks about his own idea for a podcast and what that may entail down the road, leading to a discussion between the two on more schools hosting their own athletics-focused podcasts.

As the episode moves along, Ward discusses the 2022-23 season for his beloved Sacramento Kings, as well as for himself and the Rattlers Men's Basketball Program. Ward shares what the Rattlers endured throughout the season, and what allowed him to have the level of individual success that he did on the court. Ward talks about the future of the program, and that he's not satisfied with how this past season panned out.

Then, to close the episode, Bennett and Ward discuss the gap between U Sports and the CCAA, and if it's really as big as some make it out to seem.

Maddy Williscroft, who is now an alum of the Ambrose Lions Women's Volleyball Program, joins The All-Canadian Podcast!

Host Tyler Bennett is joined by left-side Maddy Williscroft from the Ambrose Lions Women's Volleyball Program for the latest episode of The All-Canadian Podcast, powered by the All-Canadian Sports Network!

To start, Bennett discusses how he has grown since the start of his own podcasting journey, both as a host and as an interviewer, in a bit of foreshadowing of one of the themes of this week's episode - recollection. Bennett shares a bit on how the podcast has grown since the first episode of the Four Quarters Podcast.

Then, Williscroft joins the show to discuss a wide variety of topics, most of which center on looking back and reflecting on years that have passed. As a recent graduate of the Ambrose Women's Volleyball Program, one who played all five years with the Lions (plus one year, thanks to COVID), Williscroft takes time to look back on how her career had progressed.

The Calgary native ended up at Ambrose after graduating from Bishop Carroll High School, a self-directed high school in her hometown. Williscroft discusses many different facets of her Lions career, from how she came in as a rookie and ultimately grew into a Team Captain as her career unfolded. Williscroft also shares how she navigated being named team captain and upholding the team values while staying true to herself in a self-labeled 'identity crisis'.

As the episode moves along, Williscroft discusses Pursuit Volley, an organization that was founded in 2014 by former CUE Men's Volleyball Head Coach Ken McLaughlin. She shares a bit about the organization as a whole, and how she first got involved. Williscroft also discusses the opportunities it was presented herself and other volleyball players from across Alberta.

To start, Bennett discusses his newfound attraction to podcasts, albeit of the true crime variety. Bennett discusses why he wasn't drawn to podcasts initially despite recording one of his own, but how his affection for them has changed in the last six months.

Then, Kressler joins the show. The 2022 OCAA Player of the Year and 2022-23 OCAA Female Student-Athlete of the Year discusses a wide variety of topics pertaining to her own collegiate journey and the sport of softball (or fastball, which is an interchangeable term, as discussed towards the end of the episode) as a whole.

Kressler begins the episode by talking about her time at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and how her time in the United States has changed how she views outside opinions versus her own perception of things. She shares a bit on what went into her decision to play NCAA softball out of high school, and how she ultimately returned to Canada and joined the Saints program.

Bennett and Kressler then discuss the 2022 season for the Saints Women's Softball Program, one that saw the group go undefeated and clean up at the OCAA Awards. Kressler then talks about the successful 2022-23 season for St. Clair College as a whole when it comes to athletics, a conversation which led to the pair sharing the first-ever concerts that they attended (results may surprise you).

Briercrest's Jackson Anderson joins The All-Canadian Podcast this week!

After an off-day on Thursday last week due to the Golf Canada 2023 Canadian University/College Championship in Komoka, Ontario at FireRock Golf Club, The All-Canadian Podcast is back with another episode (and another guest)! Host Tyler Bennett is joined by third-year outside hitter Jackson Anderson from the Briercrest College Clippers Men's Volleyball Program!

To start, Bennett takes a look at the four days of golf that played out in Komoka, discussing the Men's and Women's winners and their wire-to-wire dominance. Bennett also discusses the UBC Okanagan Heat Men's Golf program's bright future, a group that featured four first-year and one second-year student-athletes this year at Nationals. First year golfer Andrew Rouble finished tied for fourth in Komoka, then won the Whistle Bear Open in Cambridge over the weekend to cap off a stellar week of golf.

Then, Anderson joins the show. The conversation starts with a look back at the 2022-23 season for Anderson and the Clippers. Bennett and Anderson discuss the Clippers' run to the ACAC Gold Medal and what clicked for the group to bring home an ACAC Championship. Then, the pair discuss Briercrest winning the CCAA Bronze Medal at the 2023 Men's Volleyball National Championships in Etobicoke.

From there, Bennett and Anderson have a discussion on faith and sport. Anderson shares how his mindset has shifted over the years as he's progressed through sport, discussing how his identity as a person goes far and beyond what happens in sports.

Abrams, who won a National Championship with the Hawks this past season, joins the show to discuss anything and everything related to curling.

Off the top, Bennett looks for some help from listeners when it comes to finding ways to slow your body down and just relax. A self-realization moment over the weekend led Bennett to further understand that he doesn't know how to 'do nothing', thus the question: how do you force yourself to slow down and unwind?

Then, Abrams joins the show to discuss the sport he's grown up around: curling! Abrams shares how he first got introduced to the sport on a family outing to watch his father play. From then on, he was hooked and his love for the sport has only grown since. Abrams discusses what the junior system is like for curling, and you'd be surprised to know that it's very much similar to some of the more 'traditional' sports. Then, Abrams and Bennett talk about how Matt ended up at Humber College, and what went into that decision.

To close, Abrams and Bennett take a look at the academic side of the equation for Matt, one that has included a program change after just one year. Abrams discusses what went into that decision for him, and why he ultimately decided to switch to Sports Management.

With the May 2-4 Long Weekend now in the books, golf season is officially underway, and Cornwall takes some time away from the course to discuss a variety of topics surrounding her personal golf journey.

Off the top, Bennett takes a look back at the 2022 Canadian University / College Golf Championship that took place in Bromont, Quebec. The UBC Thunderbirds swept all four titles, winning the Women's and Men's Team Titles while Aidan Schumer (Men) and Sonja Tang (Women) took home the individual titles. The 2023 Canadian University / College Golf Championship takes place at FireRock Golf Club in Komoka, Ontario from May 30th to June 2nd.

Then, Cornwall joins the show to discuss her golf journey. Cornwall takes listeners through the story of how she first got into the game of golf, and when she started to take things more seriously (spoiler: it was much later in her life than you'd expect). Cornwall and Bennett discuss her collegiate career, which has been highlighted by several individual and team achievements through two seasons with the Heat. Cornwall shares what it was like to win her first-ever collegiate event back in September. Cornwall also shares a bit on what goes into her preparations ahead of a round, which includes the mental aspect in the weeks leading up to an event.
