The Alleged Wrestling Podcast

It’s the usual mix of not talking about wrestling until we talk about wrestling that you know and love!

The WWE firings continue this week with a shakeup of Talent Relations. Mark Carrano is out, as are many others following the Mickie James incident this week, all is discussed. The Meltzer/Charlotte stuff and social media’s influence on this sort of thing. Oh, and all of the wrestling too.

We close the show as we always do by picking our Best/Worst Match, Best/Worst Segment and Wrestler of the week.

It’s been a long week of wrestling every night but we covered it all, in varying levels of detail. The show opens with a mammoth 24/7 scramble before getting into quick Wrestlemania thoughts, NXT, AEW and a few bits from the main roster of WWE.

Of course, the recent WWE releases are covered too and outside of Samoa Joe are there really any surprises here? While AEW cannot hire everybody that becomes available we make our case for three of the recent releases.

We close the show as we always do by picking our Best/Worst Match, Best/Worst Segment and Wrestler of the week.

We review this week's great NXT Takeover Stand and Deliver shows and get into whether or not these two night events are worth doing rather than a traditional one night show. Also, when is a match too long for our tastes?

Oh and WrestleMania predictions, that also happened.

We picked our winner in this week's FINAL Wednesday Night Scuffles between NXT and AEW Dynamite.

It was an all time bad WWE Raw this week which led to the longest edition of our 24/7 Worst of The Year Award nomination process. Multiple title changes, huge. Stone Cold Steve Austin has somehow managed to get Chris Jericho on the WWE Network while under AEW employ, the internet broke. Also, all of the other news, I’m not typing it all out.

A great episode of NXT leads us into NXT Stand and Deliver predictions.

We discuss the match everybody is talking about this week between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker, does it deserve all the hype? Also, all of the other wrestling this week from Twitter nonsense to 100% capacity shows, Chuck getting the boot and so much more. Oh, and WWE Fastlane predictions, because that is a PPV which is on this weekend.

It was a big week for our 24/7 award nominations, a new holder in crowned...guess what it was…

We quickly discussed AEW Revolution and if it lived up to the hype. The explosion was truly hilarious but did AEW cover it well? Did AEW over promise and under deliver with the explosion and the debut of Christian? This weeks AEW Dynamite and NXT were the main topics of discussion. New feuds, new (old) wrestlers, a great main event on NXT and how the main roster is doing very little for us these days.

Why are people like Andrade, Keith Lee and Aleister Black not being used by WWE?

It’s the usual mix of not talking about wrestling until we talk about wrestling that you know and love! Eventually we talked about all the news from this week regarding The Big Show signing for AEW to be part of the commentary team for their new show on Monday nights. Is there too many shows already? Also, yes, the Observer Awards were discussed up until our recording software couldn’t take any more cringe so it gave up in the middle, damn you Craig! We also discuss the whole “Miz as champion” thing from this week.
