Welcome to the Americhicks podcast.
Kim Monson is your host - Agree or disagree, let's have a conversation!
The Colorado Energy Plan (CEP) includes the shuttering of coal-fired power plants and replacing those with wind and solar.
In a piece on Complete Colorado, Jon Caldera explains (tinyurl.com/y6xoutvy) that this allows Xcel to double bill us.
Are you using the popular Face App which allows users to take a picture of themselves and make themselves look older?
There is concern that this application is stealing users information.
Rose Pugliese is a Mesa County Commissioner.
She is also involved in an effort to stop the National Popular Vote from becoming a reality in Colorado.
Commissioner Pugliese joins Kim with an update on the effort to gather petition signatures.
The petitions would allow the question of Colorado being involved in a multi-state National Popular Vote to be placed on the ballot allowing the voters to make this very important decision rather than allowing the legislature to simply opt Colorado in.
The Electoral College is fundamental to this nation a national popular vote would be disastrous for the future of our nation.
It’s just about good manners!
That’s what TABOR, the Taxpayers Bill of Rights, (which is in the Colorado Constitution) is all about.
It just says, hey politicians, bureaucrats, and interested parties, if you want to raise our taxes, incur debt (that we hard-working Coloradans have to pay off) or keep our tax refunds above a generous formula of population plus inflation, you just have to ask us, the people.
Blogger and author, Rick Turnquist, will explain how TABOR protects your wallet.
