The Americhicks

Welcome to the Americhicks podcast.

Kim Monson is your host - Agree or disagree, let's have a conversation!

Millennial, Cassie George, joins Kim in studio as a guest Americhick.

Kim testified yesterday at Tri County Health in regard to HB-191032.

House Bill 191032 concerns new sex education in Colorado public schools.

This bill forces a very specific view concerning sex education and takes parental choice from parents.

Kim and Cassie discuss the current Denver public school teachers strike.

The teachers and the teacher union would like us to believe this strike is about pay, but it looks more like it is about bonuses.

Back to the sex education bill.

Kim asked for the curriculum and was told that the curriculum does not exist yet.

President Trump is expected to sign a security bill concerning the border which would mean another partial government shut down would be avoided.

Kim and Cassie speak to journalist Sharyl Attkisson (www.sharylattkisson.com).

Some years ago both the FBI and Department of Justice were spying on Sharyl Attkisson because of her reporting.

Based on this a lawsuit was filed.

Regarding that lawsuit the government has claimed special immunity.

Sharyl Attkisson updates us on her case.

She has a Go Fund Me account to help her with the expenses of this case.

The government has unlimited funds (your tax money), Sharyl Attkisson does not have unlimited funds.

If you'd like to assist her you can donate by going to the following website, www.gofundme.com/sharyl-attkisson-4th-am-litigation

Both former Colorado Governor Hickenlooper and current Governor Polis both have worked to move Colorado towards the California standards concerning low emission and zero emission vehicles.

This impacts available options for buyers, as well as the cost of vehicles.

By model year 2025 10% the inventory of Colorado automobile dealers must be low and zero emission vehicles.

Not meeting this standard will result in the dealer being fined.

Tim Jackson President and CEO of the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (www.colorado.auto/officers-board-directors/tim-jackson) joins Kim in discussion of this issue.

What if Oprah ran for President?

Kim will ask Jeffrey Katz about this and speak with him about his new book, The Secret Life (www.tinyurl.com/y4vcendw).

Denver public school teachers are on strike.

Yesterday an Americhicks listener was in the area where public school teachers were protesting, they recorded some audio and shared it with Kim.

Kim shares that audio with you.

The graduation rate of the Denver public school is 64.8%.

Maybe we should see that rate bump up some before teachers are given the 11% raise they are demanding, which would also come with an increased benefits package.
