I can't believe it, but the regular season is already over. It feels like it just started, but here we are at championship weekend wondering who is going to make the CFP. 

Penn State isn't in that conversation but they are being rumored to make the Rose Bowl, so PSU football and basketball scout Josh Davis talks about that after discussing their nice win over the Spartans last weekend. Then talks about some Penn State hoops and their struggles in clutch time despite an otherwise solid start to their season. Their next game on Wednesday opens up Big10 play against Michigan State, their toughest matchup of the season so far. Notre Dame and Alabama laid the framework for beating them, can the Nittany Lions do the same? Check out why Josh Davis says yes on this week's episode of The Analytical Lion!

Ok maybe that last one isn't quite as special but us Nittany Lions fans in Happy Valley sure want a big win this weekend against the Spartans! Then he talks about Penn State Basketball and their tough loss to Virginia Tech, their bounce-back win against Colorado State, and their upcoming matchup against Lafayette. PSU hoops has a daunting couple of games ahead of them, as their schedule after Lafayette begins to grow steep. They have all the equipment they need to climb the mountain, but do they have the strength and effort to do it?

Penn State Football and Basketball Scout Josh Davis analyzes the PSU - Maryland game last weekend and goes over some Drew Allar and of course the defense. Then he previews and predicts the Rutgers game in Piscataway this weekend, before talking about the Butler and Furman wins for Penn State basketball earlier this week. Finally, he talks about the Nittany Lions basketball team and their two 90-point wins to open up their season, and goes over a few plays from those games before previewing their Butler and Furman games next week. Football Week 9, Basketball Week 1.

Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry is about to begin year number 2 at Penn State, and he has a new look team with one of his own recruits Kebba Njie. The Nittany Lions start off their season with home games against Winthrop and Loyola MD. For PSU football the team heads to Bloomington for the first time since their overtime loss there in 2020, but this time they should come home with a big W. Hopefully Sean Clifford can forget about his 4 turnover game against Ohio State and get the team rolling again to finish the year strong.
