  • Chinchilla: A Real Softy

I had a lot of questions about the Chinchilla when a pair by the name of Silver and Snow became my clients. These animals are some of the softest on earth and I was aching to get my hands around one of their little bodies. I wondered how their history with humans squared with their species as present-day domestic animals, so I asked them.

  • Python Takes Some "Me" Time

Suzan Vaughn, an animal communicator, recounts her experience with Kunda, a Python, and his human companion, Suriya. Kunda used a photo of a soft blanket to communicate his preference for varied textures. Despite Suriya's frantic search, Kunda reassured Suzan that he was safe and would return in time for their move. Two weeks later, Kunda reappeared exactly as promised, emerging from the wall into Suriya's arms. The story highlights the importance of deep listening and trust in animal communication, emphasizing that it is a form of telepathic communication as ancient and new.

Kunda, my Python teacher, taught me several lessons. And, shifting into a snake's perspective to understand a slithery point of view was enlightening. As an autonomous-type person, I fully grasped the need for time alone, but up until I met Kunda, I hadn't considered the same need for snakes. But this story is not all about me. It's about a reptile's perfect timing; timing that accommodated her human's needs.

  • An Anxious Dog Asks What's My Job?

Piper was a nervous and anxious dog. She didn't know if she was supposed to protect her people from strangers, act friendly toward them, or something in between. Her people owned a restaurant and in the middle of COVID, the employees there also seemed on edge most of the time. When I asked the dog if she could tell which people were friendly and which people might mean harm, she had an intriguing way of defining those two kinds of energies. Piper needed clarification on her job from a human perspective.
