The Anime Backlog

It's episode 26 and everyone in the podcast is sick with something! Marcus is back in the host seat, and they decide to do something a little different. Instead of assigning a show, Marcus assigns the 2016 Makoto Shinkai movie "Your Name." Will Dan and Nick enjoy this supernatural romance? Or will they find it to be out of sync?

For episode 24, not only do the dice have the power, but we also bring in special guest Jon Idrovo to trust fate and watch some anime. The roll provides us with an anime we were all interested in, but will this anime only be a shadow of the hype that preceeds it? Or will it be a flash of brilliance?

For Episode 23, we will be continuing our watch of 86 with the second cour. Nick and Marcus had their opinions on the first part and was generally well received. Will that continue through the second part or will the second cour lack some of it's shine?

In this episode Marcus FINALLY has the crew watch Vinland Saga. Dan and Nick are assigned the first 10 episodes of season 1. Will the show make them feel like they've reached Valhalla? Or will they decide they DO have enemies, and hate Marcus forever?

We have our first Twitter poll episode! Nick asked for a vote and Call of the Night came in as the winner. So he has Dan and Marcus watch all 13 episodes in season 1. Will this show bring satisfaction and allow them to rest, or will there be one too many musical montages for them to handle?

Marcus, Nick, and Dan are back with another random episode today! The dice gods have provided us with a, hopefully, non-trash anime to watch. The memories of Domestic Girlfriend and Monochrome Factor are still fresh in their minds(trauma). Will this show be a hit? Or will it go the way of the SEGA game consoles?

Dan is today's host and he is having Nick and Marcus watch MAPPA's Spring 2023 battle shounen, Hell's Paradise. Will the final show of MAPPA's so-called "Dark Trio" be a hit or a miss? Or does their interest in the show wilt?

Marcus decides to change things up and instead of the heavy stuff, assigns a more light hearted romp through the galaxy. Dan and Nick have to watch the first 13 Episodes of Spacy Dandy. Will they think it's out of this world? Or will this one fail to register?

Nick's back in the host chair for the third straight week, but is actually bringing his own assignment for this one! This week, Nick has Dan and Marcus watch the first 7 episodes of the massively hyped Spring 2023 anime Oshi no Ko. Will they be able to get over the hype and enjoy it, or will the hype machine kill it before it starts?
