Back to Mak in the winter when it sizzles, as Jack and Geoff look at issues #11 and #12 of the Boom! Studios POTA comic. As a captive Sullivan gives birth to a suspiciously silent son, Alaya enacts her masterstroke, Bako and Nix meet for a final showdown, and yet another blimp goes Boom! There's much to discuss here, and as always, your Apes hosts are having a helluva time doing so!

The heat is on as Jack & Geoff move into the next arc of Boom! Studios POTA comic, Children of Fire! As the apes go full Auschwitz on the humans of Mak, a plucky group of bazooka-wielding blimp hijackers make their move! Once again your Ape hosts are amazed by the craft on display here, so listen in and hear all about it!

As a new year dawns, Jack and Geoff return to the Mak for a conflict-laden Caesar's Day! It's all-out war between the humans and apes in issues #7 and #8 of the Boom! Comics POTA series, and your Apes hosts are loving every gorgeously-rendered panel! Ancillary characters are grabbing the spotlight, Nix's tank squad is on the move, and brains are EXPLODING. Things are indeed grim on the POTA, but the ApeCast wouldn't have it any other way!

A year after last Christmas's incredible game show, Geoff and Jack reunite with their siblings Erin and Sam {Marvel Star Wars Explorers, Young Jedi Knights Club} and Kevin {Reopening the Wormhole} for another wacky box office trivia-based game, this time revolving around POTA actors! Before that though, they dive into a fun discussion about the premiere of the hottest new Marvel show that ISN'T Hawkeye, Hit- Monkey! It's a cartoon about a monkey who becomes an assassin in Japan mentored by the ghost of Jason Sudeikis. Happy Holidays and banana-galaxy to all!

Moving into issues #5 & #6 of Boom! Studios' POTA series, Jack and Geoff find themselves playing with The Devil's Pawn! Things are looking grim for the human denizens of Mak, but help from an unexpected source just might even the odds! While marveling at the fine work on display here, the two also discuss Stan Lee's final cameo days, classic steamroller kills, and the blimps and box-visits of Batman!

The Boom!aissance continues as Jack & Geoff look at issues #3 and #4 of Boom! Studios' POTA comic! The identity of the Lawgiver's ninja assassin has been revealed, but a further act of violence threatens to throw the city-state of Mak into all-out war! Amidst their continued appreciation of the masterful art, plotting and world-building, your Ape hosts also get into the logistics of Darth Vader's funeral, the wonders of sign language, and a heaping helping of Sacred Scrolls!

In this bonus Ape-isode, Jack and Geoff finally finish off Clint Eastwood's orangutan duology with a look at Any Which Way You Can! The movie was a smash hit in 1980, and it hits pretty hard here too, as our hosts—along with guests Barm and Sean Davis—marvel at its shaggy, shambling charms and surprising horniness. They also touch upon Canadian chocolate bars, Apecast favorite Deep Roy, and the usual digressions. You will BELIEVE an ape can scrap a Merc!

A new comics Ape-och begins as Jack and Geoff begin looking at the first storyline in Boom! Studios' 2010s Apes series The Long War! Set 600+ years after the events of Battle for the POTA, the sudden, brutal murder of the Lawgiver by a machine-gun wielding ninja throws the city-state of Mak into chaos! These introductory chapters bear several classic POTA hallmarks: well-rounded characters on both sides of the ape/human divide, simmering inter-species tensions that mirror the real world, and some great great gorilla speechifying! You won't want to miss this, Ape Faithful!

In this special bonus Ape-isode, Jack and Geoff are joined by Barm for a look at the little-remembered 1996 chimp baseball movie Ed! Matt LeBlanc's big-screen ambitions got off to a rocky start, and there are myriad reasons why: the jokes are flat, the story is hackneyed, and the chimp at the center of it all elicits more contempt than any ape discussed in the history of the podcast. Listen in and learn exactly why nobody needs to watch this movie ever!
