Most Catholics know who Fulton Sheen was.

Or at least they think they do.

The cape. The unmistakable voice. The brilliant teaching. The fearless way he proclaimed the Catholic faith.

But that Emmy Award-winning evangelist was only the Fulton Sheen everyone saw in public.

What was underneath all of that?

What was it about this man that made him truly holy?

What did his life actually look like when the cameras were off?

And what ultimately moved the Church to determine that Fulton Sheen should be beatified?

Those are the questions I wanted to explore in my conversation with my good friend Allan Smith on the latest Art of Catholic podcast.

It's such a simple, familiar story.

The creation of man, the Garden of Eden...and of course, the fall of Adam and Eve.

But what really happened in the Garden?

If Adam was created with a bunch of special gifts, not to mention serious amounts of grace, why did he fall?
