Artistic Focus:

1. Balance - could you hear each part equally? Also, were all singers within each part singing with the same volume? Remember, we want the quieter voices to sing louder, not the louder voices to sing quieter.

2. Steady Beat - we want all parts to fit together rhythmically. Most of this harmony is created by a round, so the parts should fit well together.

Directions: Singers, please grade our performance based on our two Artistic Focuses. Then include at least one musical thing you would add to the song that would make it more enjoyable for an audience to listen to.

Posts are due by rehearsal on Thursday, February 14th, 2008.

Our focus improvement for this, our second version of Twilght Sleighride is intonation.

1. accidentals - All sections should play the C naturals and F naturals as such.

2. pitch - All notes should sound the same throughout each section. Listen especially for all C naturals and F naturals.

String Orchestra - All reviews are due and should be posted by 12:22 PM next Thursday January 31st.

This recording features our full String Orchestra. It is an early rough draft, and our focus in this recording is maintaining a steady subdivision within each section.

Further recordings will highlight improved intonation among the entire orchestra as well as group articulations as identified by our "Good Orchestra/ Great Orchestra" principles. Enjoy!
