Artist Michelle Marra is inspired by the abstract expressionists of the 40's and 50's with Joan Mitchell being her favorite. Michelle calls herself a "Spirited Colorist" after having battled Lyme Disease for about four years. She has a compelling story to share.

After working as an Editor for ABC News for thirty years, Michael Jacobsohn returned to his passion for documentary filmmaking. As an immigrant to the U.S. at age 8, Michael did not speak English and felt out of place and finally pursued filmmaking while still in high school. Now, two of his documentaries will be debuted in Berlin, Germany in June of this year.

Union Square in New York City is a favorite hangout for artist Edward Ching. He sells his artwork there three days a week. In the near future, Edward will be painting on a platform from the back of a van... hopefully drawing a crowd and creating interest. Hence, more sells. Edward paints iconic NYC scenes and often little known areas of the City.

She has hired a business coach and we'll be anxious to learn how it boosts her career (she promised to have a repeat interview after working with the coach for about three months). Nikki advises wannabe artist to show up and do it and never compare yourselves to other artists.

April Fool's Day on the 1st was uneventful. It was not a prank that an episode of the podcast was not released. It was my poor pre-planning.

This past week, I began editing the four latest interviews that I have hosted. Unfortunately, Murphy's Law prevailed and the voice of the four artists were inaudible. I am red-faced and am in the process of apologizing to these artists. I have offered to redo their interviews as each one deserves to be heard and all have given excellent interviews. "Redo" should be even more enthralling.

Please listen to this episode with an open mind. I offer not excuses, but I have learned a couple of lessons.

Seattle Artist, Amy Stone, is a wife and mother first, and draws inspiration from the mundane things in her life. At the same time she is drawn to the idea of balance and imperfection and the Japanese practice of "Wabi Sabi." She states that the aestheic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. Amy claims to have found her voice through social media. In addition to her MFA, she has a business background in the wine industry. Advice to wannabe artists is twofold... don't be afraid to follow your dreams and don't be afraid of rejection.
