Elmarie Mawe and Conor Tallon bring you another show full of arts news and happiness from Cork! In this episode, singer Muirgen O'Mahony from Ballincollig has joined the world-touring show phenomenon that is Celtic Woman. They're currently on tour in the States, and she chatted to Elmarie about the life-changing experience! Violinist Keith Pascoe of the Vanbrugh Quartet brought his infections enthusiasm for Dvorak and Brahms to the conversation about a weekend of gorgeous concerts to start the month of April with the Vanburgh. HOW IS IT APRIL ALREADY?! Conor Tallon chatted to Dr Michael Waldron not just about this week's very French Work of the Week, but why the Crawford Gallery is now in fact closed for a month. And playwright and actress Irene Kelleher chatted to Elmarie about bringing her play "Wake" to the Cork Arts Theatre. With movie muisc in honour of Oscars Weekend, it's another enjoyable show from pure Cork, Cor's 96FM & C103!

Elmarie and Conor both came down with Covid, so here's the show as broadcast from their Isolation Studio at home! Guests this week included actress Úna Crawford O'Brien, who chatted about bringing the play "Halcyon Days" to the Everyman Theatre and had a very interesting chat with Elmarie about how we view life in our older years. Uilleann Piper David Power chatted about coming to Triskel with a blend of Trad , Baroque, and Flamenco Fusion - which sounds so exciting!! And Conor spoke to Eoin Nash who had an open call for Cork businesses and organisations to sign up to the Arts for All Charter as a vision for making Cork a European Centre of Excellence for Inclusion in the Arts.Great music and a round up of some of this week's events completed the show!

Riverdance lead dancer Breandán de Gallaí returns to the stage of the Everyman Theatre with a show called Walls Talk. First Cut Film Festival is back with in-person screenings in Youghal this year, celebrating young filmmakers who are creating everything from shorts and music videos to wild TikTok creations. Tess Healy Maguire returned to college and is now in the 3rd YEar of the BA in Drama and Theatre Studies and was on to chat about a production of Shakespeare's The Tempest this week in the Stack Theatre. And Michael Waldron led us through another gorgeous and uplifting Work of the Week in the Crawford Gallery. Lots of news and notices, and great music complete 2 hours of Sunday morning's Arts House!

On this week's show we continue the January pledge to not just play Irish artists, but ONLY artists from Cork, while gigs are pulled. We haven't repeated an artist yet since we started! What talent there is in Cork! And IT'S FANTASTIC that since the announcement of the end of time and capacity restrictions that theatre events and concerts can now renew their planning. So here's to the gigs and real income returning. Also on the show this week poet Tom McCarthy spoke to Conor Tallon about his new book of memoir and journals, "Poetry, Memory, and The Party. Journals 1974 - 2014" ......covering over 40 years. It's such a special publication and Tom was a fabulous and unassuming guest for someone who has made such an impact on Irish Literature and the careers of so many others. Conor also chatted to Assistant Curator in the Crawford Gallery, Dr Michael Waldron, about this week's Work of the Week. Elmarie chatted to cellist and composer Ilse de Ziah about her solo cello work and her recordings with The Diviners, including the most fascinating story of the Battle of the Starlings in Cork over 400 years ago! And we were joined live on the phone by violinists Teresa Foley and Aine O Halloran to tell us abiout pleying together as the duo "Violini". Enjoy!

Padraig Leahy from Engineers Ireland Cork had news of a competition for engineers and architects who have a vision for Cork in the next 80 years! Now that's forward thinking! Tom Spalding of the Cork Decorative and Fine Arts Society had an invitation for listeners to join them on a virtual, LIVE tour of the Mauritishuis Museum in The Hague, in a specially arranged and exclusive event!
