“Keep His Word and the Word Will Keep You” Text: Proverbs 6:20–22

In this episode, we are reminded of the power and protection found in God’s Word. The command is clear—“Keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother.” When we keep God’s Word close to our hearts, the Word will, in turn, keep us. Psalm 119 shows the deep love and delight the psalmist had for the law of the Lord: “O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day.” The believer who treasures the Word finds both guidance and peace—“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”

The Word of God guides us—it directs our steps and keeps us on the right path. It grows us by shaping our hearts and minds into the image of Christ. It gears us up, equipping us to face temptation and trials. It grabs us—holding our attention and affection when the world tries to pull us away. And the Word guards us, protecting us from evil influences and sin’s destruction.

When we learn to keep His commandments, we discover the promise that “it shall keep thee.” God’s Word is not just a book to be read but a living guide to be obeyed and loved. It becomes a gift that brings peace, protection, and power to the believer who treasures it. So remember: Keep His Word—and the Word will keep you.

What does it mean to live a life that is acceptable to God? In Romans 12, Paul reminds us that God desires more than words—He desires a life fully surrendered to Him. To be acceptable to God means offering ourselves as a living sacrifice, placing every part of our lives on the altar for His use. It means refusing to be shaped by the world’s standards and choosing instead to be transformed by the renewing of our minds through His Word and Spirit.

Main Thought: God, in His mercy, has left the door open. It is not too late to turn to Him, but the opportunity won’t last forever.

1. The Door is Open for Revival
   • God still desires to stir His people.
   • Revival begins when believers humble themselves and seek His face.
   • The Spirit is ready to renew cold hearts and reignite holy fire.
2. The Door is Open for Repentance
   • The message of grace still calls sinners to turn.
   • Christ is willing to forgive all who will come.
   • Today is the day of salvation—don’t wait until the door closes.
3. The Door is Open for Restoration
   • God welcomes the prodigal back home.
   • Broken fellowship can be mended through His mercy.
   • The Father delights in restoring His children to joy and usefulness

Today’s message is entitled Turning Points in the Life of Lot. Lot’s story is one filled with choices each with lasting consequences. From his decision to journey with Abraham, to the moment he lifted up his eyes toward Sodom, Lot’s life reveals how our steps, whether toward faith or compromise, shape the direction of our future.

As we look at the key turning points in Lot’s life, we’ll see both the danger of worldly choices and the mercy of God who still delivers His own. This is more than a history lesson — it’s a warning, and it’s a call to examine our own turning points today."

Intro:

This week we look at Romans 9–10, where Paul reveals his deep burden for his people, Israel. His heart’s desire and prayer was that they might be saved. The question is—do we share that same burden for the lost today?

Application:

• Who is on your heart today?
• Are we carrying a burden like Paul?
• Are we praying by name for family, friends, and neighbors?
• If we truly believe eternity is real, then our love for Christ should compel us to love the lost.

Closing Thought:

Paul’s passion wasn’t just for Israel—it was for all people. If the Gospel is our hope, then we must share it with those who are perishing.

Welcome to today’s episode. We’re looking at the life of Jacob — a man whose story shows us how God can change anyone.

• Jacob’s Beginning – Born grasping Esau’s heel (Genesis 25:26). His name meant “supplanter,” and he lived up to it.
• Jacob’s Deception – He tricked Isaac and stole Esau’s blessing (Genesis 27). Sin brought fear and brokenness.
• Jacob’s Dream – At Bethel, he saw a ladder reaching to heaven (Genesis 28:12). God reminded him of His promises.
• Jacob’s Discipline – With Laban, Jacob was deceived himself and learned humility (Genesis 29).
• Jacob’s Decision – Wrestling with God, his name was changed to Israel (Genesis 32:28). God transformed his life.
• Jacob’s Destination – In old age, he called his life a pilgrimage (Genesis 47:9) and died blessing his children in faith (Hebrews 11:21).

Welcome back to the podcast! Today’s encouragement comes from 2 Corinthians 4:16 – “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

Paul reminds us that even when life is hard, and our bodies grow weak, God gives us strength on the inside.

• We Faint Not in Trouble – Life brings trials, but God’s Spirit renews us.
• We Faint Not in Weakness – Our outward man may get tired, but the inward man is strengthened by prayer and God’s Word.
• We Faint Not in Hope – Paul says in verse 17 that our light affliction works for us “a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” What we face now is temporary, but heaven is forever.

So today, don’t lose heart. God is working in you, and His strength will carry you.

Galatians 6:9 – “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
