The Assembly Call IU Basketball Podcast and Postgame Show

On this week’s edition of Assembly Call Radio, we discuss this week’s top story: Armaan Franklin giving Archie Miller his first commitment in the class of 2019 — and yet another in-state recruit to build his program around.

On the mics this week: Jerod, Andy, and Ryan.

In Segment One [2:20], Jerod opens up discussing the importance of the special guest speaker the team hosted on Wednesday. Then Andy and Ryan give their opening thoughts on Franklin’s commitment, which leads into Ryan’s detailed scouting report of Franklin’s game.

In Segment Two [17:40], the guys discuss the many different reasons why this is such an important recruit to get for Indiana, and explain why seeing a triple-digit ranking number next to Franklin’s name and wondering if he’s a recruit worth being excited over is a misguided notion.

In Segment Three [26:04], it’s Ryan’s favorite segment: player comps! We provide a few recent Hoosiers with whom Armaan shares some traits. Then we look ahead to the rest of the class of 2019 and what is important to watch for moving forward.

In Segment Four [40:44], we highlight a few important notes from the date/time/TV schedule release, and then answer a few listener questions.

All of that and more (including a little unexpected silliness) on this week’s edition of Assembly Call Radio.
