In today's podcast we speak to netball star, Courtney Tairi.
Courtney's career started off in NSW at the Swifts where she then travelled over to NZ to play for the Steel, Magic & Northern Stars over her career as well as international team, Silver Ferns.
Courtney started netball at the age of 7 as her older sister played. As well as netball Court also played in athletics and touch.
Courtney's move to NZ was a hard decision she had to make, however thought it would be best she represented her family and her blood whilst making the most of this opportunity.
Courtney had an injury where her achilles snapped. This didn't hold Courtney back, having previous 2 major injuries she knew she could come back from this.
As an athlete it is important to challenge yourself; see how far you can push it and get. This is important as an athlete, as a player but also just as important to do in everyday life.
Courtney definitely does this as now a retired athlete, hosts TV shows and MCs sports. She had no training at all heading into this and for her was a sink or swim situation.
