It's competition time on the Atlantic Voice with the 2015 Summer Movie Scorecard. Eric defends his title as champion, as the guys take a look back at their predictions from Part 1 and Part 2 of the Summer Movie Preview.

If you might have forgotten, back in May the guys previewed the slate of summer cinema releases, and tried to decide which films would be hits, both in the box office and with the critics. And now it's the reckoning.....

There's also time to discuss the demise of the website Grantland, and Zeff has some opinions on the latest James Bond film SPECTRE.

And now, to the scoreboard please!

Unless you've been living, far, far, away, a new Star Wars film is about to force its way into your everyday life. It's arrival is now just weeks away, so unless it's a coma from which you have just awaken, you're probably making your plans to see the film. Or maybe you regard all noise as a menace to be avoided?

The desire to see this next episode is strong in Eric, while Zeff will not fight his natural cynicism as he strikes back against all the hype. 

Ok, that's more than enough of that - it's an Atlantic Voice special charting the making of the new Star Wars movie.

You should listen, we suggest (no really, enough!)

Eric and Zeff are back from Mars with a menu of items, including going Back to the Future, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, and the battle brewing between Netflix and the cinemas. Talking of streaming, there's comment on Pandora, Eric has a new computer, Zeff takes a shot at two journalists and there's an asteroid sighting.

Back to Earth and business as usual then....

Mars is in the news, what with the discovery of water and Matt Damon. So on this episode, Eric and Zeff are taking a look at Mars in popular culture, with discussion of The War of the Worlds, both in film and in music, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Total Recall, and whether of not you yourself could get on a trip to Mars. And there's music from Phish and David Bowie.

The Pope is coming! The Pope is coming!

Not to the New Basement Studios by The Lake, we should clarify, but to the surrounding areas. And to be honest by the time you hear this, the Pope may well have come and gone. But whatever.....we celebrate the Pontiff's visit to America by discussing full-size cardboard cutouts of his likeness, an upcoming merger between two beer conglomerates, and Star Wars merchandise.

No, they're not all related to the Pope's visit. Sorry, did that sentence confuse or mislead you? You must be a first-time listener then.....

On this show, Eric and Zeff discuss hacking and panda bears. Yep, it's that random combination as the guys take a look at the recent outbreak of car-hacking, as well as attempting to discover why panda bear cubs are so small.

There's also an update on old business, including discussion of the photograph on the post, and the young lady in the photograph, and the latest news on whether or not we're under threat of an asteroid attack (don't worry, we're not!).

And if it seems like there's a lot of links in this post, well, listen to the show, and it will all make sense. We promise.....

As Frank Sinatra sang "They've got an awful lot of coffee in Brazil." And as Eric and Zeff will tell you, there's an awful lot of coffee wherever you happen to live.

On this show the guys are sampling everything from national chains to old-fashioned instant. There's a trip to a listener's house to use their pod coffee system, someone ordering the "lighter one" and the aftermath of a dog throwing up on a sidewalk (listen closely for that one).

Let's start that over. Eric and Zeff are here and on this show are talking about the last hurrah of The Grateful Dead, and getting to the bottom of whether your birth month has a direct impact on your health. There's also Star Wars talk, and discussion of film directors getting shirty about their films' trailers. Big news for the Atlantic Voice, as our Summer Movie Previews are based on the trailers.......

It's a "half-baked" episode of the pod, as Eric and Zeff run through a multitude of topics, including St Elmo's Fire (the film), True Detective (the TV series), and coffee (the drink). Also getting a mention: Jerry Seinfeld, the passing of Patrick MacNee, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. 

And for speed freaks out there (not an allusion to "Half-Baked" if you catch our drift), Eric is proud that it's a quick show, and Zeff, well, leaves the cannolis.........
