Adam and Eve tried to cover over their sin...how like them we still are, even thousands of years removed. Our own coverings are not sufficient, just like the fig leaves would have withered and crumbled away again revealing their nakedness. However, it is here God intervened and, through the shedding of blood, provided a covering over for them.

God does the same thing for you and I through the sending of His Son, Jesus Christ, the sacrificial Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!
