Kakos Industries is a dark comedy about a company that specializes in helping its clients to Do Evil Better. It is a sex-positive satire with its heart in the right place. Episodes follow Corin Deeth III, the CEO of Kakos Industries as he attempts to make it through the monthly announcements keeping shareholders of Kakos Industries up to date without any sort of crisis emerging or other serious interruption. This is episode 138 - A Matmos Halloween, which was last year’s Halloween special. "Hello! My name is Abigail Eliza, and I’m the writer and the voice of Remus on Sword and Spinner. Sword and Spinner is a prequel story to the other show I write, Back Again, Back Again. While the two are set in the same world – a countries called Rhysea and Illikna – you don’t need to have listened to Back Again, Back Again to understand what’s going on in Sword and Spinner.

The show is about a ranger – called a gladicus in Rhysean: literally, a sword – who, after being exiled from Illikna after helping to put a new king on the throne, ends up wandering Rhysea, taking on odd jobs and slaying monsters to make a living. They are followed around by Lila, a lugubrious bard – played by Chloe Peterson – who writes songs about their adventures and helps them solve mysteries.

My favorite part of the show is that Chloe composes and sings a genre-hopping bard song at the end of each episode. So far, we have a full choir arrangement, a seduction song, and a classic toss-a-coin number. I really love hearing what they come up with for each episode.

This episode – season one, episode two, The Hand of Retribution – is about Remus and Lila getting hired on by a farmer to kill the thing that is stealing his crops. As Remus often says, however – it is very rare to find monsters in Rhysea. Mostly, it is people doing monstrous things.

One important thing to know is that there’s quite a bit of political difference and tension between Rhysea and Ilikna, which manifests in this episode. Everyone in Rhysea just calls Ilikna “The Far Shore,” despite it being an entire country that really super hates it when Rhysea does that.
