Conservatives are panicking at the prospect of Zohran Mamdani winning the mayoral race in New York City. Many see this as the young people being won over by socialism, but that isn't the case. Mamdani is not winning on the arguments; he is winning through demographics. We'll discuss why immigration bans are the only relevant issue for elections going forward.

Conservatives rightly recognize small government as a core principle of the American founding but rarely recognize what makes it possible. Small government does not mean an elimination of authority but distributing across multiple social spheres. We'll discuss why power will always exist, why it can always be abused, and what it really takes to make a small government.

When many people warn about the dangers of power, they refer to "The Lord of the Rings." The One Ring can be a symbol for the dangers power presents, but the message of the books is far more nuanced. In his famous trilogy, J.R.R. Tolkien also venerated monarchy and focuses on the danger of leaders who do not embrace their authority and act decisively. Podcaster Middle-earth Mixer joins me to discuss the true message Tolkien was attempting to convey about power.

On MSNBC this week, host Joe Scarborough gave a familiar speech about the dangers of Donald Trump wielding government power against his political opponents. With figures like Letitia James, James Comey, and John Bolton finally facing charges, the Left has quickly rediscovered its love for judicial restraint. Scarborough delivered his tirade with nods of approval from other journalists, and he warned that Trump and his administration officials would face a similar set of politically motivated prosecutions once they are out of power — the obvious problem being that the Democrats already brought those charges against Trump and his staff. The Left is attempting to engage in political amnesia in hopes of selling a program of political de-escalation that they have no intention of taking part in.

After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, it seemed for a moment that the Right would recognize how serious the situation had become and put aside differences in order to defeat the Left. Instead, establishment conservative figures have directed their attention to infighting and canceling others on the Right. Seamus Coughlin of "FreedomTunes" joins me to discuss.

YouTuber Dave Greene joins me to discuss the leaking of a Young Republican group chat and how the different responses by conservative factions highlight serious problems inside the movement. We also debate the use of populist political tactics to influence the Trump administration and attempt to build new structures of power.

In June, the left launched its No Kings protest to denounce the horrific “authoritarian dictatorship” of Donald Trump. Deporting illegal-alien gang members, preventing the mutilation of children, and punishing criminals all became proof of Trump’s incipient “fascism.” Now that Trump has deployed National Guard troops to stop violent leftist mobs from attacking ICE officers, Democrats and the Left have decided to stage a sequel on Saturday. The whole thing will look like farce — clever signs, bad folk music, and stale slogans — but behind the clown show, the Left is radicalizing shock troops preparing to do real violence.

In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, many conservatives have called for forgiveness and moderation, but that is not the role of the civil magistrate. Timon Cline joins me to discuss the difference between public forgiveness and public justice and why a government that fails to thoroughly punish evil is in violation of its divine duty.
